Cannot use keywords in my listing

Hello, I've been a seller with eBay for 17 years. I recently listed an item that was a type of bone and not ivory. I actually deleted the item and did not sell it. eBay than sent me an email stating that it will be fully deleted. It was a red flag within eBay and they restricted my account. I can no longer use to the words "vintage, antique, bone, carved". I sell a lot of vintage items within my eBay store, and not being able to add in the word "vintage" to my listing is not only hurting myself, but eBay, and their sales. Buyers are looking for vintage items daily, and use the word vintage to search for an item.

I'm now debating on cancelling my eBay store at this point, due to the punishment and the lack of sales.

Has anyone else had this issue?

Cannot use keywords in my listing

Sounds like you are the newest member of the vintage ivory keyword eBay "radar" club.

When listing bone, you must know and state the animal it came from and the animal cannot be on the endangered list. It sounds like your listing was up long enough to be caught missing this information.

This has become a somewhat common post, another example being this one:

The use of vintage, carved and antique  should not be a problem I use them all the time in my listings and vintage it is in fact one of the recommended check boxes in the listing form. If you are restricted depending on how long you are restricted and what type of store subscription you have you may want to close your store so you don't incur the store fees.  There are over 100,000 current listings that have both antique and carved in the title. There are 1.3 million listings with the word bone in the title.

Instead of using the word "vintage", use something like "C. 1950's", "1910-1930" or something similar. "Vintage" is overly used anyway, just like "antique".
