Cannot select "pre-owned" for condition

I listed an item this week and the ONLY choice for condiiton is "NEW".  I went ahead and selected new, but the first sentence of my description states that the item is pre-owned.  I'm using a MacBook pro.  I've seen other topics similar, but cannot find a solution.  Thank you.

Cannot select "pre-owned" for condition

Some items can only be sold it they are new.  If you do not get the option for a used item then you can not list it. Buyers don't read descriptions and you can not override the condition selected by adding it to your description. You are asking for a not as described claim when the buyer gets a used item. You will have to refund and pay to have it shipped back to you.

Cancel the bids, take the listing down, and sell it on another venue.

You better take that listing down now until you figure it out. You will get skunked for sure picking new but selling a pre owned item. It won't matter you said so in the description. A buyer can easily claim NAD.

Some items can not be sold second-hand. This sounds like one of them. I strongly recommend you cancel the bids and remove the listing. There is no getting around the rules on eBay.

Probably something to do with the product identifiers or item specifics? I would try removing them to see if the other option appears..

In any case, if you're certain the item was never used I don't see a problem with marking it as a new item and adding pre-owned or "never used" in the description.

good luck!

@gadgetmama

If you clicked ‘sell similar’, many parameters will be locked.

It will cost you to cancel, but it is your best option. Selling and shipping an item that was not listed and described properly will be worse.
Your ‘no returns’ policy is just another snag. No returns doesn’t mean no refunds.

End it now and create your own listing.
I believe only new items can use a stock photo as the main photo.

I deleted the listing and started from scratch.  I listed the title.  The next choice:   Only "NEW" is offered.  Frustrating!!Screen Shot 2022-06-10 at 16.12.08.png

Thank you - I believe you have the correct answer - had no idea this was one of the items that could not be sold as pre-owned.  !!
