Cannot list my item

I am trying to sell an item, an auto part of mine, and I have not violated any Ebay standards with my practices not with the item I am trying to list, my record as a buyer is flawless, and this is my first item ever. I have been a buyer and member since 2006 and I am aware of the listing fees and such so it isn't that.  I have offered free shipping and a fair price, but when I press "list" on my Note 4's Ebay app or on the browser, an in-app popup tell me some more info is needed from me, attempts to load a register screen, then takes me back to the previous screen in an unending loop of frustrating circuitous technical incompetence.  I thought perhaps it was an app issue, and tried to list it from my HP computer. I entered all my info and listed the item, only for my item to still be in my drafts and not listed. Tried again from my computer, did the same exact thing 5x before I gave up. All of my info is correct and it just refuses to go through. Has this happened to anyone before?  Someone help please?

Since this is the first item you are listing, it sounds as if you are not set up to sell.  You have to provide them with the info requested, such as the email address that Paypal payment is to be sent to, etc.

 

From ebay help pages:

 

Sell an item - Getting started. Whether you're starting a business or just want to makesome extra cash, selling on eBay is a fun way to do it. You can set up a selleraccount in advance, or when you list your first item. To create a listing, just click Sellat the top of most eBay pages.

 

You can revise your buying account to sell, too, you don't have to open a new account just for selling.

 

If you refer to feedback as a buyer, all buyers are flawless in that respect as they cannot receive negatives or neutrals.  Do not post a negative or neutral comment in a positive format as a seller as that is a policy violation.  Don't sell internationally right off the bat; some sellers never sell internationally, but don't jump into that until you have experience and can make that decision.

 

 

 

Be careful as a new seller; familarize yourself with selling policies, practices and procedures.  Study on how to pack.  Understand the MBG and returns.

 

It is often said, don't sell anything more than the amount of your feedback; in other words, don't list expensive items until you have accumlated an equal amount of feedback.  (Like a two thousand dollar item would mean two thousand feedback comments.)

 

Never ship anything without checking your Paypal acct to be sure you are paid.  Ship to the address on the Paypal payment.

Heidi & Trinton,

This is the second time in as many days we've seen this issue pop up. Is there some sort of technical error sending new users' listings to drafts instead of live? Or is it a part of the registration process they didn't complete?

Beware of those asking for pictures to be sent outside of ebay or for answers to be sent outside of ebay.  They may be trying to get your email address to send a fake you've been paid message.

 

Do all communication through the ebay message system.

 

Check you emails frequently so you can answer any buyer's questions.

 

Don't mean to scare you but there are a lot of preliminary things that it will be helpful to know.

I recommend reading the Seller tutorial and pages on ebay.

I appreciate that answer, it was very factual, however, it doesn't help me here, not to be rude of course. I am not looking for "new seller FAQs", nor advice on how and what to sell. EBay, it seems through some sort of glitch is blatantly refusing to allow me to sell this item, as from the EBay website, the draft never disappears when it tells me the item is listed nor does it appear in my "selling" tab. Now with the app, all information you stated was provided, my PayPal email, shipping method, how and what and when to pay EBay for the listing etc when prompted to do so. When it's time to press list, I get a screen that says "register" and then it bounces me back to the review my listing page. While on the computer, the next screen after pressing list, has me sign in, then takes me directly back to the generic selling screen. 

No one seems to have an answer to this problem, and I thank you very much for your help.

No worries, I understand.  I was going to suggest it might be the phone app, but I see you tried on your computer, too.  

 

Copper has paged Trinton and Heidi from eBay to this thread for their help.  Possibly this is a glitch as Copper said there was another post about this.  

 

Maybe try this:

Setting your account preferences to accept PayPal payments

If you already have a PayPal account, you can accept PayPal payments from buyers.

To accept PayPal payments:
  1. My eBay > Account > Site Preferences at the top of most eBay pages, or Seller Hub > Shortcuts > Site preferences. You may need to sign in.

  2. In the Selling Preferences section, click Show next to Payment from buyers.

  3. Click Edit.

  4. Under PayPal Preferences select Offer PayPal as a payment method in all my listings.

  5. Click Submit at the bottom of the page.

     

    Hope this works.

Cannot list my item

I've had this same problem for the last two days.  It seems no matter how I alter the listing it just will not go through.  Just goes right back to the "complete your draft page".  This is the first time I've listed anything but I've linked up the Paypal account and done everything suggested.  I'm really at a loss here.  Hopefully, you're still available to fix this issue.  I see the post was nearly a year ago.  Let me know what I'm doing wrong... PLEASE

Figured it out..... I had not completed the refund items by linking to Paypal in the account set up. Duh!
