@ow_448

You need to sign up for Managed Payments and be approved before listing.

Re: Cannot list my item due to needing payment method

Have you added information for a checking account?  I don't know about outside of the USA, but anyone forced into mis-Managed Payments is required to add checking account info since payments are direct. Late, but direct.

Re: Cannot list my item due to needing payment method

You need a checking account in a bank in your own country.

You need to provide proof of identity.  Americans can use their Social Security Number, Canadians like me are not encouraged to use our Social Insurance Numbers by our government so I used my passport and on another account a drivers license.

The option to use micro-deposits does not work well if you are not in the USA.

All your identification must match. If your name is John Jacob Jingleheimer Smith, and your bank account calls you John JJ Smith, your eBay account JJJSmith and your ID has John Jacob Jingleheimer Smith, the signup will fail.

Many members have opened new online low-fee/no-fee banking accounts to be used exclusively for online selling.

I have a vague hope that these tough new demands for confirmed identities will make it harder for scammers to set up disposable selling accounts in future. We'll see.

You can still sell on eBaydotCOM (just as a US registered member can sell anywhere in the world) but you must ship to the country you are registered in and you must sell in the currency of the site you list on.
