Its been fun! Its been real! But I’m so done being forced into more nonsense by this VENDOR telling me what to do as a condition of use. My products, my photos, my time, my money. Bye bye ebay. And no, I won’t let the door hit me in the butt on the way out. LOL. I have multiple accounts. This one is the first to go. As my listings run out on the other, I will do same with it.

Certainly your choice, but I don't know of any marketplace that doesn't have some rules.......even goodwill (here, at least) has some rules about what they will/won't take.

There is a difference between having "some rules" and changing or adding new ones twice a year for the past ten years.

APPRECIATE YOUR SELLERS WHO CARRY THE MERCHANDISE CONSUMERS WANT
"Until cancelled" is not in the best interest of 86% of the eBay population
Why harm the sellers? Why make more work for us? Supplemental income.
I'm afraid to list anymore items. Thinking not to list anything else.
When ones LOSES the ability to choose,
THAT'S not a good thing.
Takes ALL the fun out of selling my books.
I called customer service thinking something was not working properly.
There has been an update. "the update information was sent to You on 2-26-2019"
I asked if someone would please remove the update.
No.
I asked if there is anyone I can contact as the automatic relisting will do harm to me, instead of improving world.
No.
Its Frustrating, and disappointing when you lose your voice or lose a benefit.
Programmers are intelligent, talented people, creative artists.
What happened here?
eBay was a platform gaining popularity, it is the sellers and their items.
You can find almost anything you desire on eBay.
This new update will cause many sellers to search for another place other than eBay to make money.
I m searching now.
A place where the platform appreciates the sellers who carry the merchandise the public is looking for.
Letting another entity make a conscience decision for you, IS A PROBLEM. MAKING YOUR OWN DECISION IS A FREEDOM.
LOSING A FREEDOM TO CHOOSE? thats a problem, read that somewhere....
This type of update, is no progress.
Kind of scary monsters.
me the seller of my books, am formally requesting permission to make the decision take down "until cancelled" on my listing template. I'm on a budget and must live within it. it takes discipline . The little update "until cancelled" could mean big trouble for this girl.
The the voluminous inventory guys, they may prefer the update.
Let the big guys have automatic relist. They need it.
SO...
If we are a small little store...say 50-or so listings ...Can we pass on the automatic relist update?
CAN EVERYONE HAVE THE OPTION TO PASS ON OR KEEP THE INTRUSIVE UPDATE?
We deserve respect.
Losing my freedom to choose will eventually send me back to amazon.

I have been selling on this site since 2012. I shut down today. I will let the auctions run out too. No more fixed price listings. It is almost craft Fair Weather and I can spend my time better making jewelry rather investing more time chasing ending dates on eBay.

I've been selling on eBay since 2005 - never a big seller - don't have a store - but have sold over 2,000 items in that time with 100% positive feedback. Slowly but surely I've been building up my eBay business. Now due to this policy I will be forced to never list more than the 50 free items I get every month, will have to make sure to cancel them before the time runs out so they don't auto renew which would cause me to incur fees, and won't be able to accept any promotional offers for "free" insertions, because I can't risk them auto renewing and suddenly facing fees on every one of them.
Therefore, I'm doing about the same thing. I'll sell off my inventory as I quickly as I can and then it's bye-bye eBay.
I can't for the life of me figure out why they did this. There are dozens of posts, all with dozens of comments, all saying sellers (especially small sellers) hate this policy. The funny thing is I can't even see how it would help eBay. Their bottom line will suffer with fewer sellers and fewer sales. Soon eBay will be nothing but cheap T-shirts from some vendor in China and expensive, rare items from sellers with stores. This policy kills exactly what made eBay fun and profitable for years.
What I find insulting is their refusal to listen to us and their insistence that this was done "to help" us make more sales. I've asked repeatedly how this could possibly lead to more sales when I'm being forced to have fewer listings and no one has answered. One representative said he was "sure I would see the benefits in time". So typical of some millennials making corporate decisions about which they have no experience or knowledge thinking it looks good on paper for them to squeeze out extra insertion fees when items auto renew.
I truly hope as many people who say they are leaving really do since that's the only way eBay will understand what a horrible decision this was.

I have not heard a single buyer complain about this policy.

Ditto. I started marking everything down, not out looking for new items, not listing or relisting anything. I'm getting rid of everything and bailing too. Thank goodness I have some free listings, as that will be what I list. Not paying for or accepting free listings. A few months down the road I can cancel my subscription and then no dealing with eBay.

@jason_incognitoare you not reading the post to which you're replying? There are dozens of similar posts with pages of comments - all negative. The fact that you quoted Colin Kaepernick is pretty funny and quite telling. After an initial bump when they made that brilliant decision, Nike stock dropped 20.3% in three months. EBay sellers are buyers too.
