I know its not possible to charge a restocking fee if they haven't paid yet but the buy it now option and people asking to cancel before and even after they have paid is getting out of hand and I'm wondering if its costing me money through paypal fees and if so is it a good idea to charge the restocking fee in order to recoop some money lost or even the time I have to spend reading their emails, refunding their money and then relisting the item while it was off of Ebay for two days waiting on their payment when I could have sold to some one who wanted the item?

You cannot charge a restocking fee for this. Since he never paid, how do you expect to enforce it?

Just cancel and block.

If they paid and cancelled, you lose .30 (PayPal transaction fee)

If they request to cancel without paying, you lose no actual monies but time and energy (which still translates to money for me)

Restocking fees are not possible with a cancellation - whether they pay or not.

As annoying as cancellations may feel, at least you can get your item back on the market quicker than shipping and accepting the return and waiting for it to come back before you can relist

I have been charging my buyers --

a portion of the costs of my upbringing to this point in life.

After all, without those expenses --

I would not be here for them.
