Canceled Order and Payment

Hi everyone, 

First time on this board and was hoping for some advice and/or info...

Can the winning bidder pay for an item after that winning bidder's order was canceled?

He (the buyer) made payment on an order that was already canceled.

How is that possible?

I am following your dilemma, and if your cancellation was completed, I would think that payment couldn't have been made.  Maybe sending the addional invoice caused the problem. 

I merely responded to the other poster (and your earlier post) claiming that the ebay address must match the ship to address since that is incorrect.

He made payment to an order that didn't exist anymore, how is that possible?

So, after this payment came through (on the original non-existing order) I ended the re-listing and shipped the item to the original U.S.A address given by both eBay and PayPal.

The biggest question that wasn't asked, are you sure he made the payment?

Was the payment actually in PayPal or did you just get an email showing he made payment through paypal?

I assume I need to contact eBay so they can get their fvf back form the sale. 

Sorry, this is so confusing to me and has never happened before in all the years I've been selling here.

No, the payment is/was in my PayPal account and I transferred the funds already to my bank. 

It even allowed me to print the shipping receipt under the original canceled order.
