Hello, I am a new ebay member and just sold my first item via auction; unfortunately, the winning buyer appears to be a scam. About a minute after the auction ended, they claimed to have issues with ebay checkout and asked for my paypal email. I declined and told them to contact ebay to resolve their issue. This morning, I checked their account and they are no longer a registered user. I have a couple of questions:
(1) Can I flat-out cancel the offer without any negative repercussions to my account?
(2) I noticed another scam account inflated the price of my item (bid against itself every 2 hours), and I would like to offer the item to the second place bidder (who appears legit) but for less than their bid. What is the best way to do this?

The blues have come to these boards and advised us its OK to cancel with address reason when a buyer is trying to scam you for sure
many sales that might make you nervous are not scams at all
in fact many sellers are afraid of shipping to Deleware and jump on the canel button.thats a big NO NO
the cancel button shoud only be used a a last resort
please come back if you have any problems

ebay is full of fleas lately, and its really bad... we are all getting scammers, i have items sitting in ebay purgatory, unpaid, and been reported weeks ago, still no response from ebay, or the zero rated buyer... oh, but i get to pay the fees for the so called sale! 😂😆😆😅it is what it is... sorry youre new here, and not aware of the tumultuous relations that many of us have had with fleabay over the past 15 or more years... its gotten really bad,and pretty much a complete waste of time to many of us... wish i could say welcome, and good luck, but i wont take any responsibility for what happens next...lol!

Not sure if I'm understanding you correctly, but, if a buyer has not paid within 48 hours of the end of the listing/auction, why not open an unpaid item case? Don't you still have 32 days to do that?

You have 0 feedback and your trying to sell a $300 Sony PlayStation?!? Electronics are one of the most scammed items on Ebay. Your going to attract scammers like flies to the dung heap. There will be no legitimate bidders on this item. Sell it locally.
