I am trying to open a case against a non paying buyer. It says this can be done 2 days after auction end. The auction ended Saturday afternoon, more than 48 hours ago. When I try and open the case in the resolution center it says I need to wait 2 more days?? Why does it say 2 days if I actually have to wait 4 days. Am I missing something?
Thanks.

I haven't personally encountered this but others have reported a required delay if they have combined shipping set to cover multiple days. So Ebay doesn't want you to open a UID if the buyer may be waiting for another auction to close.

OP is in Canada, I think non-US accounts have to wait four days. (not 100% sure about that, though)

USA is 48 hours.
Canada may be different

In Canada it's 3 days to open and 4 days for the buyer to respond.
I'm not sure if the timelines apply to the specific site of listing or the country of the seller but in any event the OP's listings were on .ca so the .ca rules apply.

If you follow the links from the main help page on .ca you see something different!
No surprise.......it's eBay!

Hi Heidi + Trinton,
These 2 links show differing information for opening UPIs on .ca site. One says 3 days, one says 4. Which is correct? And can the incorrect page be updated?
Thanks!

Thumbs up jimmy!

Now I know why different Canadians kept advising different timeframes. @femmefan1946 always said it was 4 days, then I'd see other posters from Canada say 3 days.
