Can't Cancel Order

Hello, 

I recently sold a game to someone and it was shipped out already. I haven't heard from the buyer and the item was returned unclaimed. I messaged the buyer twice now to see if they still want it, is the address OK, etc and got no response. At this point I'm just going to cancel the order but I don't have an option to cancel the order on ebay. I can only refund through PayPal but then I don't the credit for the sale that I already paid fees on. Any suggestions?

My kneejerk reaction is to wait for the buyer to respond. You can reduce the amount of the refund to cover your fees... but I wouldn't do that until your buyer knows what's going on. I would like to think the buyer will understand the shortage, considering the problem. Good luck!

Howdy!

Personally, I'd leave things as they are...you fulfilled your obligation.  If they have a problem with their address or mail pick up, they need to square that away and then contact you as to what they'd like you to do.  It's possible the person passed away and all of their mail is being returned.  If it bothers your conscience, you can go ahead and give a refund minus your fee's (partial refund).    I had an item returned once because it was "unclaimed"...all emails went unanswered, too.  I just kept the item in case I ever heard from them, and I never did.  Best of luck!

Interesting. Well I guess I'll just wait it out.

I have had this happen several times. Packages are returned where receptionist have refused the delivery. or home does not have a mail box....you name it. I contact the Buyer once through eBay and once through PayPal, then simply wait it out. At least 5 times I never heard from the Buyer. After 6 months, I relist the item and sell it again.
