Hi, I just received a $300 offer on an item. Prior to accepting or making a counter offer on any offer, I used to check the potential buyer's feedback left as one way of determining how to proceed. Because we can't simply click the feedback number on the offer page, I would copy the user name and paste it into the "search seller" and it would come up, even if they were'nt sellers. I'd then be able to click their id from there and see feedback left. Reviewing feedback is one of the few tools on ebay to determine how to proceed with a Best Offer.
Now, I can't even do that and there's also no longer an option to search for a member, or least I can't find it. Anyone have any ideas?
I did call customer service and they told me it could be a technical glitch or possibly being removed permanently
Trinton@ ebay , is this yet another tool being removed for sellers use? It sure is a necessary tool, especially on best offers. I sure wouldn't want to accept an offer from someone without first checking their feedback.

I would just look up my own feedback, then replace my ID in the browser address line with that of the buyer, hit Enter, and there you are.

Well, after playing around a little bit, I did find the link for "Find A Member".
Thanks anyway, everyone.

Funny, I went back in under Advanced Search and the "find a member" link was gone. I do want to share a workaround.
I googled "ebay" "find a member" and a link came up to allow me to search for a specific member.
trinton@ebay , why do us sellers need to go through all kinds of workarounds for this nonsense?

I was wondering why they removed "Find a Member". Now we know. There is no reason the buyer making an offer shouldn't have their feedback click-able to begin with.
That "work around" won't likely work for long, so save the link at least.

Sadly, you probably could have found the member faster by googling the ID.

If this is another hoop (roadblock) eBay has put up to make selling even MORE difficult than it already is, then AFAIC it's just another reason NOT to use Make an Offer. You already have to put up with 8, 10, 12 bites at the apple when it used to be 3, annoying lowball offers and sob stories basically wanting you to GIVE your items away. Now, you can't even confirm that the buyer making an offer is legit and not someone with a chip on their shoulder just waiting to give you a negative for the tiniest imagined infraction?
No thanks ... I don't need their "Best Offer".

nope, their id didn't come up when I first tried that!

That's how I do it.

I have a feeling this is the future; why else have we been the recipients of all of the wacko different ways to receive an offer and have had Best Offer autoinserted into listings? Testing...1,2,3...testing...
It is a future in which I will not participate. Maybe in the long run it will settle down and there will be some basic, understandable policies (even if I don't agree with all of them), but I can't stand the current glitches and surprises any longer.

Thanks for the workaround. I still like to find out from trinton@ebay why its necessary to do workarounds on this issue.
