So i recently sold a very expensive dji phantom 4 drone on ebay. I both test flew and cleaned it before i shipped it, it worked perfectly as it should. So i shipped it and then a few days later the seller marks it as defective because he couldnt get it to fly more than 2000 feet out of sight. First off, THIS IS ILLEGAL. Flying any drone over .55 pounds out of sight is criminal activity. I took my FAA part 107 commercial pilot license and i know the rules. Second, It really depends where you are located to be able to fly it as far as 12000 feet, I looked his address up on google maps, he was in a very densely populated area so of course he isnt going to get much signal. I provided many links on discussions and reasons why he wont be able to get that much range because when the manufacturer measured the range, they measured it out in the middle of nowhere.
So you know ebay, they automatically favored the buyer and made ME pay for the shipping back. Thats $75 dollars in shipping just thrown away! Of course I tried to apeal, but they immediately denied it. So i went to my last resort, i told them i would make a video to prove it works perfectly. They denied it. I tried and tried to get them to accept a video, but they are even to lazy to watch that.
So now ive spent $75 dollars in shipping and now im being told i cant get my $70 dollars in sellers fees back. Thats $145 down the drain. I will absolutely NEVER sell on ebay again.
Now what i want to know is how i can start complaining against ebays horrible service. Anybody know?

Sorry this happened to you,op..did you mention in your listing that if theres a densely tree populated area, the buyer wont get much of a signal? If not, the buyer had a reason to file a snad complaint against you. Its not a matter of Ebay being too lazy to watch a video..videos..and emails..can be doctored, they dont accept them.Theres nowhere to complain against ebay, you agreed to all their terms of service in the user agreement when you signed on to sell here.

Were sorry to hear about that. You should not have to pay all that money to go nowere. Something has to be done about situations like this. The thing about the complaint dept is they dont care and they dont have too. Best regards

This is horrible. I know the sting you feel, as do many others, and i do not believe it will go untested.
I guess ebays lawyers don't have enough to keep them busy. I suspect there will be plenty of filings in the future.

Now what i want to know is how i can start complaining against ebays horrible service.
You just did! And you can complain lots of other places, too.
You can post on Facebook.
You can complain to the Better Business Bureau.
You can write your Representative or Senator.
You can write a Yelp review.

Let me make a prediction: you're going to sell that LEGO set you have listed. The buyer is going to claim there are pieces missing and file a SNAD. eBay will approve the return (for which you will pay), even though you have photos of all the parts, and a video of you packing it up and taking it to the post office (both of which are useless, by the way). When you receive the returned LEGO set, there will indeed be parts missing, which the buyer is now enjoying at your expense and which eBay will not believe. You will then get negative feedback from the buyer.
Just another day in the life of an eBay seller.

"Description is four sentences"
I find it odd the obsession with the amount of content in listings on these forums. I'm happier when I don't have to read a mile-long scroll. It isn't about how much content but what kind of content.

Especially, according to sellers on the discussion boards, it doesn't seem to matter to eBay what is or is not in the description when it comes to approving returns.

Sellers have to cover themselves - items should be described as clearly as possible. and the OP did not - that's why he had to accept the return. Had he put the fact that if you plan to use this in an area that is heavily populated with trees ect.. - you will not get maximum control range than he could have fought it.
I still don't understand why sellers don't do their due diligence on researching before they throw their items up for sale. Doesn't matter the venue - you have to know the pros and cons especially when you are not dealing with a buyer face to face.

I don't doubt that you are. As for it isn't about how much content but what kind of content~obviously. It isn't an obsession, just that logically, more info is provided if you use a few more sentences, and that detail may be important to a successful transaction. That is why I said, no qualifiers. A description does not have to be long, just complete.

OP, if you really wanted to the fight the matter you do have the right to arbitration, but since you have the item back and can resell, your loss (although a major bummer) is probably not going to make pursuing that avenue worthwhile. Hopefully you can step back and in a day or two grit your teeth and move forward.

That's like expecting every seller who is selling a computer to say, "The effectiveness of your Bluetooth signal depends on your distance, the thickness of your walls, the material in your walls, etc., etc., etc., etc." It's the same basic idea with a drone. ALL wireless signals degrade, the farther you are from the source. ALL wireless signals can be blocked or interrupted by objects in between.
No matter how hard you try, and no matter how many clauses you add to the listing, you CANNOT anticipate every pocket of ignorance on the part of every buyer, AND sellers are NOT supposed to compensate for illegal activities on the part of buyers. Flying out of site is illegal because it is DANGEROUS. Someone could get HURT. The buyer had an unrealistic expectation and eBay supported him, thus rewarding bad behavior. eBay is like a parent who gives candy to a child every time it has a tantrum.
