Can I share my thoughts?

Dear Customer,I am very sorry about your recent experience with a difficult customer. I understand how frustrating that can be. EBay would eliminate written reviews and allow ratings based solely on stars. Written comments can give problematic customers a platform to share their negative opinions. eBay doesn’t seem to recognize how much we care about maintaining a good defect rate. That’s just my personal opinion on the matter.

A good place to share your thoughts with eBay is when you are offered to complete a survey.

The feedback system is mostly useless. Ebay and all of the Internet marketplaces know this and will not make major modifications to it because of the potential of negative PR fed by sellers who have nothing going for them other than their FB rating.

A larger marketplace developed alternative, objective ratings for sellers, planned to deprecate FB and chickened out due to seller negativity.

Ebay intended to use DSR to make FB more relevant, it no longer cares about DSRs.

This site is old enough, and Ebay has had enough different management teams to know that it is unlikely for any relatively new seller to stuble across an better way to handle FB which does not have more potential positive than negative impact on business.

On a slow sales weekend, I find myself believing there is nothing Ebay can do to make anything better.

Funny, I was thinking about that same notion the other day.

I decided that because eBay is a proverbial thicket -- held together with scotch tape -- of often contradictory rules, regulations, exceptions, and provisos, that it may well be impossible to do triage in the first place to even start to get a handle on the dysfunction.

Make a small change here, and everything else over there will fall apart.  That sort of thing.

eBay seller since 1999. This is a posting ID.
