Can I send a custom message aumatically when a buy has paid?

When I'm away for 3 days and can't ship, I don't close the store, I just change the handling time to 3 days and make an announcement in all my listings, which buyers usually wouldn't notice anyway. So, on top of that, I'd like to send out an auto message when a payment is received. But it seems that eBay only can send out a pre-prepared message, not a custom one. Did I miss something? Thank you for any help in advance.

Not sure about your question.  I find it easier to use the Time Away settings.  That protects you from late shipping claims as long as you return by the date you set up.  I have close to 2000 items going so if some are not visible for a couple days at a time it doesn't phase me.
