Can I run a report with sold item name as a part of a multiple-item listing?

I'm trying to generate a report which shows the name of the specific item purchased in an multi-item listing, but am either overlooking or not possible (not seeing as an option in "customize column settings)...wondering if anyone has advice.

Right now I go to:

Seller Hub -> Payments -> Reports -> Transaction reports

and I can generate a report, but it will have only the name of the "main" listing.

Say I have a "trading cards for sale" listing, and then within that I have trading card A, B, C.

Is there any way to generate a report that shows the name of A, B and C? (with price sold, all the cost info, etc. - just like in a normal transaction report) as one of the columns in the row of the report?

Ah, one of the things that constantly annoys me about eBay under the list of ways they make my life unnecessarily harder @alphahandswatches .

Transaction reports do not include variations. Shame on eBay.

I have to use the Custom SKU field for each variation so I can identify variation on my transaction reports.

kyle@ebay - I know I've been pushing this for years, but it's absurd eBay has not included variations in the transaction report to date. I've been saying this since the very early days of Managed Payments as I was an early adopter. Please submit this feedback (again). Thanks in advance.

You are close. When you open the transaction reports select custom from the drop down menu once the report is ready select the download CSV button. It will take several minutes for the report to run but when you open it it will have more information than you probably want but you can save the file in excel and rack and stack the data anyway you wish.

Thanks @wastingtime101

How do you use a custom SKU field - do you use a single listing? In my case I have a multi-item listing but it is like 60 differentiated items in a single listing that I've set up (but perhaps I didn't set this up the correct way?).

Much appreciated -

You can do it 2 ways. One is from Seller Hub and the other is from within the listing. I suggest editing the listing since you want to update all variations and not just a couple.

Edit the listing. Click on variations.

When the screen come up where you enter price and photos for each variation, to the left of price/quantity/UPC you will see the custom SKU field. Fill that out. You can literally copy/paste the variation into that field if that's what you want.

Keep in mind this will only affect future transactions - there's no way to impact the transaction report on past sales.

If you keep email records of your sales you can probably match up variations to your transaction report that way. Super tedious but it can be done.

Nor does the list of Sold Items you can look at on a seller.  If a buyer purchase several items from a Variation listing it shows and 1 sale.

I'm just so use to it.  Of course it isn't right and I agree with you completely.  But I had to move forward, so I have always kept my own selling records and I make sure the details are in my records.  I only use the Ebay reports as Cross Check type reports to keep me honest in my numbers.

Shocking that such basic information can't be included for a sale...

Thanks again @wastingtime101

Keep in mind that any site you might sell on is not responsible for keeping records in the fashion you may desire.  I get what you are saying and I agreed in my above posts.  But sellers need to keep their own records for accounting for their sales and use reports from the various sites you may sell on to cross check your own numbers.  Not as your primary accounting records.

Sites make mistakes or as you can see, may not give you the details you want.  But your own records can be designed in the way you desire to see the information.

For me personally, back when I started selling online, I started using Microsoft Access and built my own database of my business records.  It has served me well over the years.  You may not need something like this, you might do well with a few worksheets that you can track your sales on.

Hey @wastingtime101 thanks for checking in.  I'll be glad to pass this on again for review!
