Can I link photos from a hosting site in the product description area?

Is it allowed to host photos in the description but the photos are hosted somewhere else? No links. Only that the photos are hosted someplace else and they are being displayed in the description.

Reason: I have larger descriptive photos that don't display well in the photos section and would like to add them in the HTML product description section.

Yes. The image links must be HTTPS.

The pictures have to be from a site protected site.......  so I would try one and see if it displays after posting the listing.......

The listing form pops up the following at top of description area as soon as a non-HTTPS link is typed or pasted in:
"All new listings containing non-secure HTTP content will be blocked. This listing contains HTTP content."

In the case of the current one I revised, it allowed the addition of an HTTP image to be saved, but subsequently, the entire item description was hidden behind the old "See full item description" button.

IIRC, a new listing won't even go live with mixed content in the description any longer. Or it may be won't go live for some sellers? (not sure the active content/mixed content prohibition rollout is still totally finished even today - it was transitioning from warnings to blocks over the last year or so)

In any case, any use of HTTP in URLS in listing descriptions produces sub-optimal results at this point.
