If I have the same item listed say 3 times, what do I have to change?
Title, price, pictures, or descriptions? Or just one of those. Thanks.

You can't.
https://www.ebay.com/help/policies/listing-policies/duplicate-listings-policy?id=4255
"We don't allow more than one fixed price listing of an identical item at the same time from the same seller. This includes:
Listing an identical item in different categories or listing an identical item using different usernames
Listings that aren't significantly different, such as adding an inconsequential bonus item with the same identical item in two listings"

Just providing a different image works fine. I have 3 graded football cards of the same player posted. Same card & grade. Just added the new image.

The policy says you should not have multiple listings for the same item. Even if you set up differences in the listings.

I would suggest making one listing with the quantity available. That way your customer can decide how many they want and you can incrementally add more postage for each additional.
What purpose does listing three identical items separately serve?

I think that policy is if you only have one item and list it multiple times.

Do you mean you have only one item and want to list it multiple times or you have more than one of the same item?

No.
You can't have the same item listed more than one time, doesn't matter if you have one or 100. If you have multiple quantities of the same item, use a quantity listing.
You CAN have one fixed price and one auction listing of the same item, however.

That depends upon how you are listing them.
If they are auctions, you are allowed to have multiple lsitins with the same item if they listings meet the criteria in the policy.
The spirit of the duplicate item policy is that you should not have multiple fixed price listings for items that are not "significantly different". If they are fixed price, you should have one listing with a quantity of three.
The policy is here:

You should know this by now, you're not a new seller. The question is why do you want multiple listings for the same item? It's not allowed. There is no need for a work-around. If you have multiples for an identical thing then list them with quantities available.
If you have slightly different examples (collectibles like "used" sports cards or stamps), then list each separately with their own individual pics and specs. When one sells, that listing is done. You can do multiple's if it's something unused like the lighter flints, and can offer combined shipping etc. if you wish.
The buyer should get exactly what's in the picture and description, that's why identical listings aren't allowed. They hog bandwidth too...

Identical listings most certainly are allowed. Just have a look in the categories I sell in. It's real easy to figure out who the sellers are that have blackmail material on eBay higher-ups.

You may see duplicate listings up. But that does not mean they are allowed. Nor does it mean those sellers violating the rules have blackmail materials. It only means they havent been caught......yet.

Just post it as bulk of 3, price for one, choose how many, and there you go. All items in one single listing.

Have reported duplicate listings of the same item last year from a seller abusing the system and eby did nothing about it. The duplicates are still listed and it makes me wonder why? Why have rules if they are not enforced?

I already have that. The reason for the second listing is changing the price & shipping. Looks like people like the cheaper price with higher shipping. Same total.
