If I have the same item listed say 3 times, what do I have to change?
Title, price, pictures, or descriptions? Or just one of those. Thanks.

I've seen many sellers doing it but I wanted to see if it's okay. I don't want to jeopardize my account.

don't do that. Duplicate listings may prevent your selling freedom. There are various rules to follow when you listing a item. Get more knowledge reading by articles and expand your knowledge before listing again!

Not sure what you mean. You're saying you can blackmail sellers with multiple listings because they're not following policy?

I've had it that way for years. But I lowered the price and raised the shipping (same total) on a separate listing and the lower price seems to sell faster.

I hear ya. I see it all over so I lowered my price and raised the shipping and it seems to sell more. But I can see now it's not allowed.

Okay thanks. I see others doing it, but they're taking a risk. I've sold over 500 of this one item so I didn't want to end the item. When I started the second listing with a cheaper price but higher shipping, same total, it sells more. I guess I'll just change the price, shipping & picture in my existing listing and delete the new one.

Ebay doesn't do anything, been reporting for years and still showing up, they just put #1 #2#3 behind each one. And idiot that came up with allowing duplicate auction listings is killing the market. I know several selling 4-10 of the same items per week and now those items are worthless

I never said eBay would "do anything" about policy violations. But that does not change the fact that the policy exists.

So you are saying that eBay have rules for the sole purpose of manipulating the market? Because if that same seller listed them as a single fixed price listing with multiple quantity, wouldn't that have the same effect on going rate?

Are you scolding me? Is this forum only for new sellers? If I knew the answer I wouldn't be asking the question. So after a certain number of years, you know everything and shouldn't ask any questions?
The reason I'm asking the question is because I've had a listing for the same item for years, sold over 500 of them. When I lowered the price and raised the shipping on a new listing, same total, they're selling more now, but I didn't want to end the 500 listing. I was experimenting. But I can see now from others answers that I can't do that.
The buyer is getting exactly what's in the picture and description. You say it's not allowed, but then "You can do multiple's if it's something unused like the lighter flints, and can offer combined shipping etc." They are unused. You lost me there.

I wasn't trying to be harsh. I'd just suggest listing the way that works best. I've done this too, experimented with where to shift fees etc, then settle with what got the most sales. For some items buyers don't seem to mind paying shipping, for others they'll pay full price as long as it's "free" shipping, etc...

When it comes to vintage items you hardly see fixed price listing with multiple quantity, I've only seen one so far and wasn't very vintage just discontinued. With vintage items if you flood the market with the same item the value drops, its called supply and demand.
The auctions I was talking about, they start the bid at .01, list the 4-10 items at a time they go for nothing, I've even seen on guy list 15 duplicate item NIP same color and size, maybe 1st listing goes for a couple dollars but the rest sell for nothing. I use to sell the same items for $10-$20, now I don't even buy or list them anymore, their worthless., That's what happens when you flood the market, I'm not even sure how they make any profit when doesn't even cover ebay fee's

I was talking about new items. Never heard of multiple listings on vintage items. You're right, that's not right.

Sorry, the "You should know this by now, you're not a new seller" ticked me off. I apologize.

From the perspective of a buyer I find it rather annoying when sellers have multiple listings for the same item. I hate wading through them during a search.

What about the same item, but want to sell it in different quantities ( lots )
Ex. 1 pc @ 5$
10 pcs @7
100 pcs lots @30
Is there a way to do that all in one listing ?
