Not only did they get a huge tax cut, they bought back $5 billion dollars of stock from investors last year. And they did this while cutting advertising down to nothing and starving the families of their sellers. But I'm not out to blame ebay's current leadership, but rather the platform's investors.
Starboard, one of ebay's largest investors, is currently trying to take control of the platform. Who's knows what they will do once they get control of everything. These huge investment firms are notorious for pilfering businesses to the point they're no longer sustainable and ultimately fail.
ebay sellers are going broke because of crooked investors, its the whole reason this platform has been on a multiyear decline. Investors got $5 billion dollars cash, while the rest of us got robbed!

That wouldn't happen even if there weren't financial tensions going on. The less people sell on eBay, the less they are apt to buy on eBay, as they will not have the funds to do so. And if they buy to resell, it's a vicious cycle. This does not just include the field of non-essential/luxury items. As eBay tightens its grip on what one can, and cannot sell on ebay, there are many items that may be called "essentiels" [to some] that cannot be purchased here. I would imagine that eBay stands to lose quite a chunk because of that. Nobody is immune to the reactionary. EBay stock is down 3.48% from what it was Friday, and that's likely as good as it gets for a while. EBay is going to want to hold onto every nickel they get, now more than ever.

They spent all that money on buying back their stock for the benefit of their executives and shareholders. But if it's any consolation, eBay stock has dropped $10 a share (23%) since the billion dollar buyback.

Since your thread is in a complete 180 from your signature, I think not only should you ship items to customers for free, but not charge them for the item either- complete refunds for anyone going forward- all on you.
After all, why should you make any money off of other people?

Q: How are you going to split up your first $1,250 check from the government amongst your customers? You ARE giving it to your customers, right?

Only in the 2-tier USA do people who HAVE step up & defend the greed.
The Corporations make certain to 'get theirs '.
While paying as little as possible for all they take.
Nobody should say, hey, how about I eat for a change.

The Customers of this widow w/ no income receive a fairly priced PRODUCT & excellent SERVICE.
This widow did NOT make millions last year or any year.
This widow paid more in Tax by % than big Corps.
This widow did not charge buyers more & more for the same service.
This widow did not make MORE when POSTAGE cost went UP.
This widow has seen sales cut in half Y/Y.
This widow did not buy back stock.
This widow did not build a bar where she works.
This widow does not hide items from buyers.
I could go on.

eBay had NO PROBLEM adding a FEE to POSTAGE to STOP GREEDY SELLERS.
Yet no one can STOP the eBay GREED from making MORE for same/less service.
