CS not returning calls today (Fri, Oct 9). Anybody working in that department????

Assuming you called as a seller, try calling as a 'buyer'; click 'I bought an item and...' and see if you get a call back faster.
I can tell you 3 mos' ago, even in this pandemic with everyone at home etc. I would get a call back as a seller. 1 week after that, and from then on, I'm still waiting on a call back from Mid July.
MP was pushed in a huge way for Mid July sign ups to have people start up in Aug/Sept. MP take up to 7 days to pay and I'm sure they are getting 10x the calls they were just 3 mos. ago.

You are posting on the community boards where you ask questions regarding eBay and volunteer experienced sellers/buyers will answer your questions. eBay staff doesn't read the posts here.
Try using Facebook or Twitter, that worked for me.
You can send an email message to eBay. Not sure if email is working. It is hit and miss due to COVID-19. I just used it on Aug 11, 2020 and got a reply and solution to a problem I found here on eBay. I was shocked. I used it again on Aug 26, 2020 and got a call and they took care of an eBay issue.

Social media worked for me. I received an answer and resolution to my issue fairly quickly. The CSR ended up calling me. It wouldn't hurt to leave a contact number.
You can also try to get phone support by visiting any help topic page, scroll down to the bottom of the page to the call back option. Click on the option and you should get a message that you will get a call back with the estimated time.
Be advised that this option is not available 24/7. If you try a time that is not eBay’s normal business hours the option may not be there or your call back will be take longer. I recommend trying this option in the morning California time.

Just wondering if any other sellers are experiencing the same issue. I know ebay does not respond to these posts. Been here since 2001, duh.

I think CS is struggling to keep their collective head above water, what with reduced staff, maybe working from home, and who knows what else. And, of course, there are always those people clogging up the pipes with, "How do I change my member id?" and such burning questions as that.
Unless you have a real emergency-type question, like your account has been hacked or whatnot, you'd probably be more successful contacting them via social media. I've even read reports that the "call back" feature response time has been disappointing.

I've called three times today, since 9 am this morning. Call back times displayed were 85 minutes, 21 minutes and just now, one minute. None of the calls have been returned. Obviously their system is not working, which is not unusual for this company.

Yes, well, that's why I recommended you contact them via social media instead. Or post your issue on this board for assistance/advice from other sellers.
Or you can just keep trying to call and not getting through or not getting called back. I'm not sure what the point of that would be, though . . .

Not surprised with all the complaints about shoddy or unavailable ebay CS. Definitely room for improvement from ebay.
Or you could ask your question here and maybe someone can help you. If it's a question that can't be answered here, I understand.
There are an abundance of posts here about CS not responding or about being unable to get through, pre-pandemic and currently.
Some people respond that they have luck with CS. I have only called them once, about 10 years ago about an account error and was helped, but that was then.
