I just had a crazy lowball offer of 80% off, Seriously!, I did not even waste my time with a counter offer or even a message, I just declined, I just hope this is not going to become the norm of what customers are going to expect.

So they know I saw it, instead of just leaving it in limbo.

That's nothing new, and I'm surprised you haven't had that happen before. There have always been chiselers. I had one on Poshmark you wouldn't believe - kept countering with $1 more than her 80% off offer on a $90 bundle. I cut her off after the third try (Posh is pretty much a haggle platform).
Just roll your eyes and carry on.
ETA: It's yard sale behaviour.

I have a set of 4 items up for sale and a potential buyer today email that he wants to buy one thing in the set.
I am not even going to reply to that considering it's not even an expensive set.

Look on the bright side, at least you're still getting offers. Consumers are starting to buy only what is necessary. Consumer confidence is falling, inflation is rising, labor market is deteriorating, stock market is plummeting, and current Q1 GDP is negative 1.8%. The most common denominator to every recession going back to the depression is a republican administration.
People ignored the bigger picture and voted based on the price of eggs. Just wait until the better weather when protests are in full swing.

I handle crazy lowball offers the same way I handle non-crazy lowball offers ... I politely decline them.

I'm never complacent

I thought of something similar, but decided against it.

I do have minimum's, but somehow this one came through.
03-28-2025 12:12 PM
Correct they wanted 80% off my asking price.

Sometime's offers are flattering, This one is nothing but an insult.

Well the price of eggs has dropped only slightly, but all the yolks are broken.

I entertain offers as well, but when they start at 80% off, I don't think the back & forth would be worth my time.
