CHAT bot "automated assistant"

I had a very specific problem with some shipping fees and needed help.

Started using the chat bot and after 10 minutes of trying different phrases and asking "agent", even clicking on unrelated topics in hopes of getting and agent option I finally got the "Call me" option.

After the call I went back to the page and it was asking for my feedback on the chatBot, heres what I said.

"We need to have a way to talk to a real person about unique very specialized situations! I have an issue about getting billed way too much for shipping (shipping adjustments) and the chat bot or your customer service articles have NO information about this issue. I know eBay wants to do away with any human interaction like all companies these days, but the "AI" chat bots are not there yet... decades away!"

What type of problem? You can probably get a much better answer to your question here rather than talking to some eBay csr.

On each Ebay page there is a link to contact Customer Service at the top of the page and again at the bottom of the page.

I would suggest that you contact Ebay for Business on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter for the better trained CSRs.

Here are your options for contacting Ebay Customer Service. Please be aware that for social media CS, you send them a Private Message and briefly explain what your problem or issue is. Feel free to leave your Name, address, phone number and/or your email address in this message. It is private and secure and it may help to speed up the response for you.

https://twitter.com/askebay

https://www.facebook.com/eBay/

https://www.instagram.com/ebayforsellers/

Your options will be on the left. If you use the link below you can only get to the Automated Assistant or Chat box type AGENT in the box and hit enter. You will then get more options. Not all options are available 24/7. It will depend on staffing available. So sometimes you can request a call back and sometimes you can't. Sometimes you have the Chat option available and other times it won't me. If it is important to you to use one of those options, just try back later.

If you use a cell phone or other mobile device, you may need to turn off your Spam filter so that Ebay can call you.

If you are a seller outside of the US or Canada, you will need to use the Chat Option.

way too much for shipping (shipping adjustments) and the chat bot or your customer service articles have NO information about this issue.

@lvsigngraphics

I remember your post from earlier today.  When I had some time I went through and searched the eBay policies with regard to dealing with shipping upcharges.  There used to be posted directions and links for a person to use since generally UPS or FedEx considers eBay as the "merchant of record" for these labels and won't talk to or deal with you.   Those pages have apparently been removed.

That said, I did find some recent forum posts with regard to this issue, and apparently the only way to maybe get any redress is to ..........wait for it....................

contact customer service, and request that they file an appeal on your behalf.

I would try to contact CS through one of their social media platforms, but nobody can guarantee they won't just blow you off, too.  It seems even those people may be getting some new "scripts" of their own lately.

Let us know what you find out.

If you take your parcels to a UPS store, or FedEx (even with a pre-paid label)  it might be a good idea to get are receipt at the counter when you drop the package off. Though not eBay reflated,  I had one from UPS once, that not only got rid of the upcharge, but resulted in a refund as well.

Hi @kis-856485 and welcome.

You may need to start a new thread to discuss your issue. It sounds like you are having some shipping problems. We are fellow eBay buyers and sellers like yourself, not eBay customer service or eBay company itself, but we may be able to help you anyway. Like to try. What trouble are you having?

To start a new thread, scroll to the top of the Selling page that shows all the discussion topics. Click on the blue box to “Start a Conversation”.  See screenshot below. Good luck!!

Ebay took that feature away.  Now you can only talk to a robot that doesn't help or they give you the option to email them... Ebay customer support sucks!

You may be better off asking your question here to get suggestions from experienced users.

To contact eBay, use the chat assistant that you reach from the Help & Contact page to request a chat with an agent or a call back.

What options you see may depend on your particular issue and how busy that department is at the moment.

Try entering "agent" into the chat window. You may have to provide some context to reach the correct department. If you see a "Still need help?" or "More options" choice, either of those should lead to a call back option.

If nothing else works, try this link:

A "Bot" is short for Robot.

When you are doing the chat and not getting what you need, type in the word Agent.  The Bot will likely ask you a couple questions to narrow down what department you need to go to and then transfer you to a real person.
