I tried listing a pettiskirt in lingerie yesterday and it would not allow me to select 'used' - I had to list it in 'skirts' where 'used' was an option. Some pre-owned lingerie has always been allowed (slips and pettiskirts), so I don't know what's going on with this. I *know* pre-owned perfume is allowed because I used to sell it.

It must be certain categories. I sell 99% used/vintage/pre-owned/ discontinued items and have not had any problems.
A lot of changes....I wonder if there is a concise list that sellers can have access to so they can become informed. If so, I know that I would like to see it.
Sorry for any disruption for you. It is a rocky road right now. Hang on, I truly belive it will settle down. When, I don't know, but I am hopeful. I need brakes on my truck. And more importantly many need to pay their bills and feed their families.
I am sending us all the will and the strength to weather the changes going on. We can, if we choose, or we find a better fit.
Sending you hope and success in your business.

"What is the policy?
Listings for used cosmetics, sponges, or applicators are not allowed. This includes products such as skin moisturizers, sunscreens, perfumes, lipsticks, fingernail polishes, eye and facial makeup preparations, shampoos, permanent waves, hair colors, toothpastes, and deodorants.
Used cosmetic brushes can be sold but must be thoroughly cleaned
Cosmetics, colognes, perfumes, and lotions must come in the original container
Homemade cosmetics must comply with government regulations"

Well that makes sense! What about the people that make those very nice soaps? Are they no longer to sell?
Thank you, as always for your insight.

Perfume is not a cosmetic.

I agree with grandma...it makes no sense at all. I buy soap here, and perfume...what's the difference between handmade soap here or at a farmer's market...? I just bought a long sought after 60's Avon fragrance, 3/4 full and I am ecstatic about it.
Used brushes are okay if they are 'thoroughly' cleaned. Who regulates what that 'cleaning' is? I would NEVER buy a used cosmetic brush...ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.
The hypocrisy here is ridiculous....

Well, they changed the perfumes then, so you can't sell used perfume but you CAN sell used brushes? Did anyone tell the 22-year-old dude-bros writing this nonsense that perfume is something where the container, even if it touches the skin briefly for application, is self-cleansing due to the alcohol content, but make-up brushes can get pretty grimy?

The used (opened bottle) perfume thing comes up every few years........... I believe there is a Fed regulation somewhere that prohibits resale of open bottles for health concerns......Not enough coffee yet to try to find it.
Well I did find the discussion on it (2019).......which still left the question open (in my mind), as Trinton never came back with an actual citation.........

This is a recent change of policy on eBay’s part, that used perfume can not be listed. It was a lucrative item to sell. Sorry they no longer allow it.
(They do not allow used underwear or socks either, but that hasn't stopped some from listing them. See policy link below.)

I’m having the same problem, it suddenly says that my listing is prohibited, apparently you can’t sell used underwear or socks, but that’s not in my listing and never has been!? It’s the same pre-owned youth clothing lots I’ve always sold that I’ve never had an issue with prior to today! Sweaters, hoodies and jeans, those items aren’t restricted under the new policy!
