Buyers not giving email confirmation code

I recently sold an item and it has been paid for but I’m asking the buyer to send the email confirmation code and they are saying eBay won’t allow them to access it. Does this sound right to you guys?

There isn't any email confirmation code.

Check your MP account, if the buyer paid, you ship.

Digital items, you have to be approved to sell them.

Re: Buyers not giving email confirmation code

When you are selling with no shipping. Local pick up most definitely is handled with a QR code.

Why would you need the buyer to "send the code"? On a local pick-up order they should only give you the QR code AT TIME OF PICK-UP.

I have to wonder why you are using Local Pickup Only on light weight items selling for a Dollar or two when you are apparently located in a modestly sized city.

Re: Buyers not giving email confirmation code

After a Local Pickup sale, the code comes through eBay messages. The buyer should be able to access it.

With your listing saying it's "not a physical card" and "Please Leave your NBA PANINI DUNK APP ID in a Message to Receive Your Item"... maybe your buyer is confused. I know I sure am...

Isn't "local pick-up" just a fantasy, a secret code used in this type of listing violation?   OP is selling digital trading cards but listing them in the Trading Cards category, in violation of eBay policy.  There's no card, there's nothing physical, so what is there to pick up?

Re: Buyers not giving email confirmation code

I don't get it. Why would someone just want a code for a card and not the actual card. Something is very fishy $1 for a "pretend" card and you must pick it up, but nothing to actually pick up. Maybe just gathering feedback?

It's a digital item that you send in a message or email.

Local pick up is when they go to you to get the item.

You've stumped the panel. Just exactly what is it  that the buyer will be picking up from you, anyway?

I read the OPs original post and all I have to say is,

What?

Re: Buyers not giving email confirmation code

Thanks @maxine*j I didn't look close enough or think of that angle.

eBay rules can be "bent" but not "broken" as the OP is apparently trying to do.

Re: Buyers not giving email confirmation code

Well they are digital items that are transferred outside of ebay from another app. So that’s why I need a confirmation code to show the item was given to them. I’ve stopped using local pick up though for the exact reason originally stated.

thank you all soooooo much for all your valuable input though. You guys are such great people. All of you.

Re: Buyers not giving email confirmation code

Well if your confused about it then clearly those aren’t the items your looking for. Because anyone that’s looking for these digital collectibles knows EXACTLY what that means. Have a great day. Thanks for your input.

Re: Buyers not giving email confirmation code

The cards are transferred outside of ebay. Myself and ALOT of top sellers are and have been doing this for a while now.

Just so that your EDUCATED. The digital cards get transferred outside of ebay so that’s why the confirmation code is required. Just like items that are sold local pickup are transferred outside of ebay. The code is to protect the seller…not the buyer.

like i stated before, those who are buying these products. Know exactly what they are and my wording would not confuse them. If your confused about something your purchasing then it’s either not the right item or maybe you should ask some questions before purchasing. 🤷🏻‍♂️
