Buyers getting around "no return accepted"

this is becoming a real problemand I know I'm not the only seller.  Latley I've had alot of buyers claiming issues with items and it seems the be almost word for word in each complaint,  "funny smell" and when you ask the buyer to explain, they just reply "funny smell".  I know I'm not the only seller with this issue,  I go to great lengths to protect my items, I've even started smellin all of my shipping supplies as I'm boxing up items and having a second person to check behind me.  I know,  paranoid, but I feel like I'm loosing my mind and complaining to ebay seems like its falling on deaf ears.  And now, buyers can leave negative feedback for sellers, but sellers can't leave it for buyers!?  How are sellers supposed to help protect one another!?!?  What is the deal!

Once, I ordered a Louis Vuitton purse that arrived from Japan with a very strong odor of mildew. Seller mentioned nothing about it.

i had to try to clean it and deodorize it, using cleaners, bars of soap and sunlight/airing it out. I got out about 90% of the odor and re-sold it locally.

I have had items sent to me with old packing materials reeking of smoke and also of perfume to cover other odors.

Odors should always be mentioned! People have allergies and sensitive noses. Be honest in descriptions.

Another pet peeve is sellers who advertise their glassware condition as very good, and then proceed to list numerous chips, scratches and fading...really? That is “fair” condition at best and would get 1/5 the price at a rummage sale. I will pass.

Do you think that they don't get a refund from Target?

I am not nor have I ever been Target.

In the 20+ years I owned and operated a b&m store I had 4 returns that I allowed.

We have all come to expect lip service instead of action.

I love how it is said that there was no contradiction in the statements...which were all contradictory

No smells don't qualify, no we won't do anything to help you. There are protections for you but none of them help in any way.

...and when they get called out they disappear.

I read some of you listings. Although very clear, sorta negative to me. Also, not enforceable in my experience. I get your frustration but I'd take my chance with a bit more positive approach.

You have nice items at good price with free shipping to boot. You have a lot going for you.

I remember the good old days when both buyer/seller could leave feedback, it was the wild west! eBay had to do something to stop the madness but boy was it fun!

In todays world with the no shaming thing, everyone would have been kicked off eBay😂😅😂😆

Anyway good luck.
