Buyers get question about if item was delivered in time

Why are the buyers even getting this question if all a seller needs to do is get the item scanned on time. I in live Hawaii and get all items scanned correctly but some buyers mark not delivered in time because guess what? Many times delivery takes longer from Hawaii than from a contiguous USA State. What does Ebay do to the seller when this happens?

From what I understand as of this time, the question and answer is meaningless.

As long as you have a carrier scan within your handling time, it does not matter what the buyer says.

I buy regularly from eBay sellers in Hawaii and have never been asked the question about delivery date. Maybe that's because my orders arrive 2 or 3 days earlier than I expected!

It's possible eBay is showing the question to your buyers because packages are arriving after the estimated delivery date.

This post is from a year ago, but it should help to answer your questions:

If it is delivered on time, you do not get the question.

If the package has an acceptance scan, regardless of when it is delivered, the buyer does not get the question in feedback.

Ah but see, even SCANNING is an issue for many sellers.  Our local PO doesnt scan - they leave it to the big sort center across town to do that. The carriers stopped doing it years ago.  And of course, you can drop it in the mail a mere 20 minutes after getting paid only to have it go way across country before going across town or sitting at a some in between sort center for 3 weeks for no particular reason.  How is any of that the seller's fault?

I received a package a few weeks ago that did have an acceptance scan (it was shipped & scanned same day) and I was presented with the question because the package arrived after the EDD.

Now you have me curious so I'm going to see if I can find more info.

You forgot the word 'estimate' at the end of the sentence.

of course the package are arriving late just as I stated because they are coming all the way from Hawaii from which packages only leave at night once a day. This is certainly different from the regular 48 States.

ABSOLUTELY NOT TRUE. According to ebay they have the same time but not in reality. Makes sense. Longer distance time and packages only leave once a day after midnight. That means if I get them there ate 9 AM they just sit and sit and sit. I know as I live her in Hawaii I'll let you in on another secret - there is no such thing as Express overnight delivery even though Ebay and the Post Office won't tell you.

NOT true either because I have had questions from buyers asking me if they want me to answer that question. Unless you live this you have no idea what you are talking about.

Totally agree with you but then the whole idea of Ebay relying on the WONDERFUL post office is wrong to begin with. I have children who live in small rural towns and all they have are post offices open form 9/12. Tell me how a seller who has a job gets their items scanned and they can only pick up packages on Saturday from 9/12. Guess that sort of eliminates deliveries on time for some sellers sending them packages. Great system Ebay has there but very effective in getting rid of TRS.
