Buyer Wrote via ebay messages:
“Hi calntom, I sent you a payment using the wrong payment card last night. I need to correct this. Can you send me a payment correction or new payment request for this item. Thanks”
This deal sounds fishy. Anyone experience this before? How to respond?
Transaction through paypal, payment was confirmed. Package has already shipped via UPS Ground. $121.07 purchase of TV Mount with free shipping.
For whatever this is worth:
I also did notice before I shipped this morning that this buyer has left 3 negs in a row during the past year for previous purchases. Only has ever leave 4 total feedbacks for others. Has a 45 rating.
(Buyer account open since 2012)

I once did that but caught it before item was sent out.
IMO, contact buyer and tell him you cannot change it at this time as item has already gone out.

Send them a paypal money request and then if they pay that then refund them back their original paypal payment.....

@emerald40 @bubbleman2010 and anyone else;)
I am sure the buyer knew when the tracking with UPS started because UPS sent both of us an email this afternoon. The buyer knows that UPS has the shipment.
I was thinking of calling paypal and giving them a heads up on the buyer’s request and ask them how to handle it.

Why call PayPal? It’s entirely up to you how you handle it. PayPal can’t change the buyers payment method either. You can either tell the buyer you are unable to accommodate the request or you can send a PayPal money request and refund the original transaction after they have paid.

My buyers are CUSTOMERS not "pests", it's not pest control but rather customer service. Your solution is perfect but the attitude not so much.

That would be an option at this point. The package is just headed into the UPS Dallas Distribution unit now,

Sounds like the consensus is to send a paypal request for another payment. If the buyer pays again, via a separate transaction then, I suppose I would refund the other payment without cancelling the order?
12-03-2018 03:40 PM
That would be correct you refund the original payment back through paypal. Once you email them and explain what you can do if they refuse then you move to plan B....

Is the buyer able to change the shipping address with the PayPal invoice?
What happens with the tracking and new payment if the old tracking is already associated with another payment?
I don't think it's that black and white.

Its just a simple paypal money reqest has nothing to do with tracking or address changing..

I am having some doubts about basically taking this overall transaction off of eBay by requesting another payment. I know it sounds easy peasy. Maybe this buyer has a better/easier way to charge back the payment through paypal with this other card he/she wants to use. The whole deal with this buyer just sounds like an end-a-round, so to speak.
I checked this morning and the buyer's name has no real footprint via google, facebook etc.
What are the possible repercussions of requesting another paypal payment? Anything anyone can think of?
