Buyer wants to return item that doesn't fit- It is brand new and I do not accept returns

I noticed somehow they've taken away the ability for me to read the contract Ebay's broken.

So...I am wondering how to call Ebay. I am not on social media, does anyone have their phone #?

I posted this already and somehow my post is removed, just like ebay removed our contract. hmmm...

Again, this is a brand new item with tags and the contract states no returns. I only offer returns on items I have multiples of. Thanks for any advice

eBay may force you to return it or they may refund the buyer.  There's really no way or knowing.  But I would tell the buyer new with tags means it's theirs and see what happens.

Facebook is really the only way to contact eBay these days.  You could look for a contact us at Site Map, but I can't say it will work.

No returns means nothing, I have no idea why people still put that in their listings.

You can of course decline a remorse return if you have "no returns" as your return policy.

Now just sit back and wait for the chargeback where 99.9% of the time you lose the item, the money and get a $20 swift kick in the teeth for your troubles.

This platform offers a money back guarantee to all buyers. Your own no returns policy is superseded by eBay’s return policy in the TOS. Only buyer's remorse types of returns can be refused and doesn't fit is a buyer's remorse so you should be good. All policies are still on eBay. If your buyer selected doesn't fit then that doesn't qualify for the MBG, so just follow the procedures for declining the return.

Here is the link for the MBG policy.

If you have a "no returns" policy and your buyer filed an eBay claim and actually chose that reason (doesn't fit) from the dropdown menu it would be considered a remorse return and you would have the opportunity to decline the return.

However, if the buyer chose a reason "doesn't match the description" and wrote in the comments "it doesn't fit" it would be considered a not as described return that leaves you limited choices.  You can refund and let the buyer keep the product for free, or fund the return shipping by providing a label and refunding in full when you get "something" back.

If you choose neither, eBay will do it for you, and usually will just take the money from your proceeds and let the buyer keep the product.  This also awards you the customary defects etc. on your seller account.

This is eBay, where  "no returns" does not mean all sales are final and certainly does not mean no refunds.

You are entitled to say 'No Returns' but that does not guarantee that you will not end up refunding anyway. It is true that a buyer remorse return can be refused. But that does not stop the buyer from doing a chargeback on his credit card if Ebay stonewalls him on returning for a refund.

Therefore you can say 'No Returns' on your listing as a deterrent or something - but if push comes to shove the buyer has alternatives beyond your control for getting his money back without having to return the item. So I would suggest accepting the return if requested because at least you will get your item back and will have the chance to sell it to a better buyer next time.

Thank you 🙂 I refunded the buyer and am not going to sell clothes anymore. Ebay is breaking our contract so there is no use to put myself or any other buyer in this situation.

No Returns does not mean No Refunds.

Tell the buyer to return the garment with all the original tags attached and with the packaging.

When you have it back, and you are comfortable reselling it, refund the original payment.

Relist and resell.

Any loss on shipping is deductible from the $600 + that eBay will be reporting as your income to the IRS.

Thank you. And thank you everyone else.

I am refunding BUT will not be selling clothes on this venue so need to go take them all down. Too much trouble, Ebay is really pitting buyers against sellers causing conflict by not heeding their contractual agreement.

There are too many other venues I sell on that are honest and do keep their legal contracts to both sides

Even if do not agree, I respect a principled stand. Just don’t forget to end all of your listings.

Of course it's your business to do as you please, but you wouldn't be out any money (except thirty cents) had you gone ahead and told them to return.  They would have to pay to return it.  I also keep the initial shipping from the refund.

"Ebay is breaking our contract..."

@froggyjump

Respectfully, they're not. Sorry you're going through this... Returns aren't much fun for sellers. Hang in there.

Yes Ebay IS breaking the contract. You said I give you pause, well clearly now you are giving me pause.  Please don't promote thieving, it's not cool

Contracts are contracts, period.

Anyhow as I said, I've removed my clothing so it shouldn't repeat itself
