Buyer wants to add another item after paying for first item

This seems sort of ordinary but I didn't find a comparable subject in my search. Buyer paid for item and next day wanted another item. I assume I should create a listing just for him which allows him to pay for the second item, but eBay would expect this item to require shipment when I'd actually just add the second item (small and light) to the first item's package (large and heavy) and hope that it doesn't increase the shipping price by much. Is there a better way to do this? Thanks!

You can use the same tracking on both items so long as it's going to the same buyer account (to the same address too). Just bear in mind if you make a special listing for him and reduce or delete shipping costs to combine with his first item, someone else might buy it and you will have to ship this to them with shipping costs charged at checkout. I tend to prefer to refund the shipping after they buy so that I'm not on the hook if the end buyer is not the person I made the deal with.

Re: Buyer wants to add another item after paying for first item

sin-n-dex has already provided one solution. You could also coordinate with the buyer to cancel the first item at their request then setup a special listing for them with both items. Coordinate with them on the timing of the post so they are available when you post it. Provide them with the item number or a link to the posting as soon as it is posted.

Have them buy it then refund any extra shipping. Add it to the first box and add that first tracking number to the second order.

As long as they are going to the same address ~ I would let them buy both items, refund shipping on the second, then ship them together and upload the tracking for them both.

I've created listings for customers in the past and it turned out to be a disaster, with someone else purchasing the item. I don't recommend doing that.

Both options are viable and I have done the second one many times with no issues. The key is making the title some obscure listing that is probably not going to get picked up in anyone's search, i.e. Joes Bundle then detailing in the description and coordinating with the buyer.
