Buyer wants a refund on a package not received

I shared tracking # again with buyer and it shows it was delivered to her address she has listed on ebay but says she never got it.  Wants a refund now.  Purchased label through ebay so it is the address they have listed.  She saying still didn't get and wants money back for shipping and the tax with the purchase price.  Am I covered as the tracking # shows it was delivered?  I can't figure out how to ask ebay to release payment everything just brings me to more reading.  I actually want a form to submit to them asking for the payment as tracking through USPS shows it was delivered.

Re: Buyer wants a refund on a package not received

If buyer opens "did not receive item" case against you....just show tracking# which proves item was delivered.   Sellers are not responsible to stolen packages.

Re: Buyer wants a refund on a package not received

Has she opened a not received case or not?

If she opens a case you are covered but even though you bought the label on eBay who knows it has tracking you must still put the tracking number in your reply.  If she is messaging you but hasn't opened a not received case tell her to open a not received case on eBay if she thinks she's due a refund. Then reply to the case with the tracking number.

Just to be clear, has she filed an actual Item Not Received request for a refund, or is she just sending hand-typed messages demanding refunds? If the latter, and you have already sent her the tracking number showing delivery, there is no point in responding with the same answer again. If the former, upload the tracking number where indicated, and maybe send a short reply (through the dispute form) suggesting that she check with her carrier and with her neighbors.

If tracking shows a Delivered status to the City and ZIP of the address you received with the payment, then you do not owe a refund. After all, that is the whole point of having the tracking in the first place.

My previous answer stands, but just out of curiosity, what is it in the tracking that she thinks "looks fishy"? Maybe some explanation would help if she can describe what she's doubtful about.

Re: Buyer wants a refund on a package not received

Have you received any form from eBay that has a place for you to add the tracking number? If so just do that.  These complaints about items not received when tracking shows they clearly were are becoming almost a daily occurrence. Something in the air? The water?  As long as you can prove to eBay it was received that should put you in the clear. If it doesn’t come back here and hopefully some more experienced users can help. EBay does require users to have a safe place for acceptance.

Re: Buyer wants a refund on a package not received

DO NOT REFUND!!! Tracking shows delivered to her address then have her open a did not receive claim and then you provide tracking info. You will be protected especially if she decides to go straight to her credit card company. Explain to her that this is the way this needs to be handled on ebay.

Re: Buyer wants a refund on a package not received

Thanks everyone! Yes she opened a claim with ebay so they put my payment on hold and sent info to me saying buyer did not receive package and to resolve the buyers request.  That's when I put tracking number down again and stated package was received.  I haven't heard anything back from ebay.  Ebay can see that there is a tracking # so I wonder why they even sent me the request to resolve the issue.  It needs to be taken care of by 7/15 but I have no idea how to let ebay know I dispute this as tracking # shows is was delivered.

Re: Buyer wants a refund on a package not received

While in no way am I implying that this pertains to you, but apparently there are scammers that can somehow generate legitimate looking tracking info to defraud buyers.  This recently happened to me after I purchased an item on Amazon.  Tracking showed that USPS delivered the package to my address but I know it wasn’t since our residence has a secured locked parcel box.  At first Amazon rejected my refund request but later reversed their decision without further explanation.  The seller disappeared from Amazon and there were a flurry of similar reviews stating that they were also defrauded by this seller.

An investigation by USPS determined that the package was delivered to an address different to that associated with the tracking number!   I’m not sure how this crook pulled off this scam but buyers must now be aware that false tracking numbers are a possibility.

Re: Buyer wants a refund on a package not received

You may want to go to contact ebay reps on facebook and ask them to look at it. You are covered as long as you have added the tracking that shows delivered.

As far as her claiming the tracking "looks fishy", her claim of item not received is what "looks fishy". The tracking "looks fishy" is the claim of a scammer that wants to create an illusion of confusion and doubt.

Yes you are covered if tracking shows delivered, no requirement for you to get additional proof (however you might want to open a package search request so at least you know it wasn't misdelivered).

I went through this in the past week and it closed in my favour this morning because it showed delivered. I had proof from USPS that it was delivered correctly as the buyer's post office investigated, however no such proof is required for eBay to find it in your favour.

Make sure you respond IN THE CASE with tracking info, regardless of what messages you sent. Don't respond to the buyer any further.

If you purchased your label on eBay, you're golden. eBay knows the package was going to that address (and tracking will show the zip it was delivered to).

On the date it's supposed to be resolved by, request a call back from eBay and talk to an agent about how it's showing delivered on the tracking and ask for the case to be closed in your favour. they will escalate the request to a case and then close it out in your favour within 10-15 minutes.

I just went through all of this today. Best of luck.

Not apropos to this case, however fraudulent tracking is a real issue and a something a buyer may not have much protection from.

Too bad.

She can open a dispute or she can keep nagging you.

If the former, give the tracking number.

If the latter, don't open any email or message from her, just delete them.
