Buyer unreasonably asks for return

111.jpg1.jpg

My post makes it clear that it has been used *not tested and sold as is, as a part or repair *these cameras are from an educational institution (no batteries and chargers/cameras only)

Please ask any questions before bidding/buying as items are sold as is. I have nothing to hide and I remind buyers to ask any questions before bidding

eBay approves buyer returns for 'not working'

Totally unacceptable, obvious abuse of the return mechanism

Have you ever met

Yep.  If I see someone whose other listings are all clothes and kitchenware, say, or dog dishes and hankies, then I can accept "untested" on that seller's one camera or electronic or computer item.  But if  camera or electronic or computer stuff is all a seller has listed, I know that "untested" means the item is just a piece of broken-down junk that the seller is too lazy to take to the landfill.

Re: Buyer unreasonably asks for return

If you can't test it then it needs to be listed for parts/repair bc as pointed out, used means working.  This is what will happen when it don't work, it's also what will happen sometimes when you list it for parts as they return it if it doesn't work or after they take the parts they want.

To be fair I primarily sell laptops, tech and lately cameras and sometimes I don't want to spend 20 on a battery or 30 on an oddball charger (need both sometimes) so I list them for parts, I also get feedback saying "thanks works great" and I know I actually lost money.  Oh well, still made something without extra work...

Re: Buyer unreasonably asks for return

Also worth noting I've frequently bought expensive items dirt cheap that ended up working perfectly.  Many sellers don't know what they are doing, I've bought countless consoles for dirt only to find what the seller specifies doesn't work, works great.  I'd say it's more common than sellers knowingly selling junk!

Re: Buyer unreasonably asks for return

I have a bunch (25+) of old phones, all are 3G and older.  Most won't power up without charging or batteries, and I don't have a charger.   I have no idea if they work.

After reading so many stories of junk lots that were sold and returned, I'm going to dump them in the electronics trash at the dump for recycling.  Not worth the pain to resell.   Junk is junk lol!

No mater what else you put in: it must match eBay's definition.

Of course yours did not. Also item not as described can be for such non mentioned damage to case ( a scratch etc....

In other words they can be a no return:

But NO RETURN does not equal NO REFUND.

eBay will refund for item not as described cases.
