Buyer claimed my item this morning and then I get an email that the buyer has started a claim bc he did not receive it. I replied back and gave him the tracking number and reminded him that he bought it this morning and we are going to ship this afternoon.
He relied back and said he only did this bc when he checked out it was the wrong account and used his checking account (now in the negative) and he wanted to use the PayPal credit option.
I have a perfect reviews for eBay and cannot get to a person. I responded back to the buyer and asked him to contact eBay and see if they would rebill it.
WHAT DO I DO 😞

EBAY cannot "rebill the customer. You need to "cancel order" (using reason "buyer's request") and refund the customer. Also be sure to "cancel label" you printed. Customer needs to repurchase item using correct payment method.
Save all the correspondence from the customer and contact EBAY about closing "did not receive item" case against you. This case was opened under false pretenses.

Cancel the label BEFORE you try to cancel the sale. They won't let you cancel if they believe it's mailed (an active label)......... I "think" that will work.

If it is not scanned it has not been shipped so should not matter when the label is canceled, it will still take the same amount of time to receive the refund from USPS, who just wants to make sure the label has not been actually used.

Buyer...even if you refund him...will still be in the negative.
Will take a few business days to have a refund return to his checking account.
And tomorrow is a holiday...banks closed.
Buyer is lucky if refund is on Monday account the earliest.
This is not a cheap item as I see.
Refunding the item...refunds are out of your 'available funds' in SECONDS...do you have that in available funds?
While his purchase is processing you don't get his funds immediately.
I would wait and NOT refund buyer until his purchase has cleared.
This could mess up your account as well.
If it was a few bucks it wouldn't be a problem...but $660.+ ...that is scary to see in the negative in your 'available funds'...if you refund buyer now.

Is this a rather new buyer? I ask because I don't know how they expected that filing an INR [which I don't even know how they were able to do that already] would change the method of payment they selected.
There is only one way that the buyer can select a different method of payment. That would be for them to request that you cancel the transaction [this is important, the buyer has to ask], then you can cancel the transaction with the reason the buyer requested it. That will not hurt your account in any way as long as the buyer asked for the cancellation.
Then if you don't want to sell to the buyer again, add them to your BBL. If you don't mind selling to them again, then list the item again and let the buyer know the new listing number so they can purchase it again.
Good luck and Happy new Year.

I am with mam98031 on this one. EBay will not be able to change the payment method if the buyer is able to even contact customer support. The best thing to do would be to ask the buyer if they want you to cancel the sale, repost it and provide them a link to the new posting so that can purchase the item using the correct payment method.
