Hello! I just had a buyer who bought an item and paid for it. Then a little over an hour later they messaged me asking if I could cancel the order because they had changed their mind on it. Then 9 minutes later they messaged again asking if I would disregard their last message as they still want the item now. Lately I have been dealing with a lot of scams, so maybe I am just paranoid, but does anything seem off with this? They aren't a super new account, and they did pay already. Is it safe to just ship it now or am I overlooking something? Thank you for any insight!

I always ship anyways.
Sellers are required to ship per ebay policy. You do not need to depend on any message.
It does not matter what message the buyer sends.

You have no legitimate reason to not ship. You listed the item to sell, it sold, buyer paid you, that's it. You've accomplished your goal. Searching for red flags will only delay and make you question everything. You wanted to sell your item and you did, congrats. People are allowed to change their minds more than once. Best of luck to you....

Just wait a few more minutes for the buyer to come back and ask you to cancel their previous request to cancel their original cancellation. Did you follow that? Lol.
Seriously I’d at least wait until the very last moment of your handling time. If they bought it today and you have one day handling, it’s good because you can sit on it until the end of the day Monday. Who knows how many more times the buyer will change their minds by then.

I never had anyone change their mind on a sale or auction. Google the address to see if it is a house or apartment. We should never cancel a sale. Could hurt you if it is an honest sale and you cancel it. Check their feedback. Did they buy stuff in the past that is stuff they just bought from you? Most sellers post it is shipped but wait a few days to ship their item from what I have experienced. Might be some drama with the buyer once it is delivered. But it has been paid. Hopefully, you take returns just in case. If you don't take returns you realize you still take returns on this platform. I might take a photo of item boxed and such. Sometimes I get my lucky clerk at the post office who lets me take a photo after postage is added....and I send it to buyer the photo your item has been mailed. I usually send the photo to buyer the day it is mailed. Just thoughts.

The buyer ended up sending the same message chain about canceling and then disregarding the cancelation message a few more times. I ended up canceling the transaction on the third time they sent a cancelation message before they sent the next one. I get the mentality of not searching for red flags, but there are a lot of scams on ebay and ignoring that and not being cautious isn't a great way to go about things either. Best of luck to you as well.
