Buyer says color of item was misrepresented. How should I approach this?

So I recently sold an Oral-B toothbrush that was brand new. It didn’t list a specific color so I just sold it with the model number in it and any other details that were on the box. I get a message from the person saying that she bought it specifically because it was “advertised” as rose gold and it was, in fact, white. So I go back and look at the listing to check and I never advertised it as a rose gold. Not in the title nor the description. I honestly have no idea where she got that it was rose gold. Thoughts on how I should approach this?

What picture was in your listing? Did the picture show a toothbrush that appeared to be Rose Gold?

I don’t think it looks rose gold at all. I sent what was pictured and never listed anywhere that this was rose gold

The picture you just posted looks rose gold to me.   Your response should be: "Dear Buyer, Sorry you are unhappy with the item.   Please return it for a full refund.   A prepaid mailing label is attached."

In your smarmiest manner possible you should explain to the buyer that your listing never said anything about color because this model only comes in the standard white.

Keep it short and sweet.

That is step one, step two depends on what sort of reply you get. hopefully you get none and it's the end of the story.

Dear buyer,

It's not rose gold nor is it for a blue tooth. I'm sorry that the listing and item are different than you imagined.

Please return for a refund.

It is a shame you don't accept returns for the additional protections. Also what kind of dummy cares what color their toothbrush is? Are they brushing their teeth in bars trying to pickup a mate? I'm gonna have to keep that trick in mind.

Count me in as someone who didn't realize electric toothbrushes came in colors. Does not look at all rose/pink to me. I just searched "rose gold oral b" and all of the images that came up looked very pink.

If I were looking to buy a rose gold toothbrush and your listing came up, I would have messaged you to confirm the color.

That being said, I'd follow alco's advice.

I can see it now.  "Have you seen my rose gold toothbrush I brush my teeth with?"  😃

They haven't got the memo that matchy-matchy bathrooms are SO umm...70s, actually.

Re: Buyer says color of item was misrepresented. How should I approach this?

According to our friends at Amazon, this item DOES come in a "Rose gold" option, also in black, pink, or purple:

You never said your item was rose gold, but you also didn't say it was white.  IMHO the image in your listing is not an image of the rose gold item, it's just poorly lit.  But your buyer was misled by that image and if she files a claim for "Not as described" she will win the case.
