I sold an iPhone 6 to a buyer who messaged me and told me the item is already in the mail on its way back to me. The buyer sent me a return request with the reason listed as "Found better price."
It says in the item listing that I do not offer returns. Obviously I refund buyers if an item is damaged or otherwise not as described, but am I required to issue a refund because the buyer found a better price on the item? I feel like I am being pushed around by the buyer, because the buyer tells me he or she "already returned" the item.

@wol-raymowrote:In the return request the reason is listed as : "Found better price" with the comment: "Found a new cheaper one"
Wouldn't that mean there is a return option based on what they are stating?
Yes sounds like they opened a return request. You can decline the return. It may or may not come back to bite you. If the buyer files with paypal, you have to refund in full if he wins. If he is able to file an snad with ebay, you have proof its buyers remorse and you can win the snad should you fight it. If you choose to accept the remorse return, you can refund the item price only but I would refund in full because the final value fee was more than the shipping cost.

That's always a tough one to call. Obviously if you get the item back you need to refund the item price, but since there is no case opened and no return option for the buyer based on the reason they stated, you might just refuse the delivery and let the carrier return it back to the buyer. Do not open the package and give it back to your carrier or go to the carrier B&M locations and ask how to return.
I would not just keep it and wait for the buyer to contact you about the refund. You will have to make a decision how to move forward.

Yes it does sound like a return request has been opened. You should have options in the case details to refuse the return or accept it. The buyer has gotten ahead of themselves and shipped this before you have accepted it.
I would still make a decision about accepting it or not and if you do not then refuse the package.

IMO, you have a no return policy. This is obviously remose.
He did not open a case or contact you. Just sent it back.
You are under no obligation to refund him.
He messed up. Now he suffers the consequences.
You can offer to return it at his expense.
But imo that is all you need to do.

Thanks for the advice. I offered free shipping, and since the buyer already shipped the item I would probably just need to refund the item cost. Will ebay refund my selling fees? I think I could win if the buyer opens a case, but it's probably not worth fighting with him over a $90 item.

So the policy is no FVF unless you refund in full but you might be able to call and get a FVF credit on the partial refund. If he didn’t open a return request (like I said, it sounded like he did since you said you received a return request) then you can refund the item price less the original shipping cost and FVF. It’s an unauthorized return and you have a no returns policy. Technically you don’t have to refund anything when you get the phone back but IMO that’s unethical.
