I sold a vintage 1940s watch a week ago. In the listing I stated no returns and sold the watch as running. However, I stated in the description that although the watch was working it could use some work. Well, the buyer got it and left positive feedback however now they say it isn't working anymore after they wound it up and want to return it. Am I stuck with allowing the return?
How can I avoid this in the future? Should I have sold the watch as is? This is the first return that has been requested in my new selling career...

No such thing as "as is". It should be listed for parts & not working.

There isn't any "sold as is" on Ebay.
If buyer is claiming the watch is defective and filed an INAD, accept the return and provide a return shipping label and refund once you get something back.

No, you do not have to take the return, just issue the refund now and there will be no need for the buyer to ship the watch back.
