Buyer reported for false claim, what next?

I reported a buyer for a false claim concerning damage to an item I sent him.

After speaking with 3 customer reps I was informed that Ebay would be refunding the buyer and the claim was closed. I also receive a notification that I was found at no fault and that Ebay had refunded the buyer out of their pocket. They stated that I was not required to reimburse the buyer or eBay, and this case won't be counted in your seller performance evaluation'.  Can someone tell me what will happen with this buyer now? Ebay obviously believed the information that I gave them and that the buyer was lying, but it seems strange to me that he receives a full refund from them. Also will this buyer receive the same notification from Ebay as I did, stating that I was found at no fault?  I was hoping he would so even if he did get a full refund I would have some satisfaction. Thank you.

I don't think there is any written procedures published as to what happens to the buyer....I presume they are put on a list/lists of problem children.......we know from a very small # of complaints on the buyers board that some are punished by not being allowed to bid on auctions/some are kicked off/suspended, etc.........but obviously buyers don't talk about that much.

Likewise, I don't know what the buyer is told......

Due to privacy policy, eBay will never tell you what action they take if any, on reports you place on a buyer.

I would just move on, it's not worth the effort. Good luck out there!
