Buyer payment processed by PayPal but eBay says its still pending

So I'm a first time seller and I sold that item last week. Over the weekend, the PayPal transaction has been processed and I've been giving the go ahead to ship from PayPal. eBay, on the other hand, says that the payment has been initiated, but that it has not yet cleared. 

I am wondering if I should ship now or wait in the hope that this is resolved in the next few days. I am worried because I don't want the buyer to have to wait to long for their item, but I also want to be protected in case something goes wrong. I have received different answers each time I call eBay.

What exactly is eBay waiting to clear if the PayPal transaction was cleared over the weekend? I want to ship ASAP but I also want to ensure that I am covered by eBays seller protection in the event that something happens.

If, when you log in to your Paypal account, Paypal shows this payment transaction as completed & says it is OK to ship ...

You will need to contact eBay customer service for assistance with this.

You are supposed to ship immediately when EBAY indicates that your item has been sold.   Payments are always delayed on new EBAY accounts.

With Managed Payments, payments go through eBay and not PayPal. You may have been a victim of a fake PayPal message. eBay no longer transfers money to your PayPal account. Do not ship until eBay shows that the buyer's payment has cleared. That said, there will be a delay between the time a buyer's payment clears and eBay makes the funds available to you.

OP was not enrolled in Managed Payments.

OP used Paypal to receive payments.

Being a new seller, your funds will be held.

Since the item sold for more then $1000, they will hold the funds for 21 days.

When you log in to your Pay Pal account, is the payment there and do they say it's complete and ok to ship?

Yes, when I log into my PayPal account the transaction says that I am good to ship. It mentions that standard 21 day ebay hold, but it says I am eligible for seller protection and to send the item to the address. On eBay it says the payment has been initialized but its listed under the "waiting for payment" tag. I'm not sure if this is due to eBays 21 day hold or not.

I've contacted eBay several times and have received conflicting answers on whether or not I am ok to ship.

It's been a long time since I've had a payment held,

but a payment shouldn't show as having been initiated / initialized

& the sale show awaiting payment if the issue was the 21 day hold.

Something else is going on, and it could just be an eBay glitch.

But until eBay can get the transaction to show that it is time to ship, I wouldn't ship.
