Buyer paid for furniture. Pick up only no returns. Buyer new to Ebay and now 7 days later has not picked up or indicated a plan to do so. How should I proceed?

Have you contacted the buyer?
If you don't hear anything, cancel the order as a problem with the buyers address.

I contacted the buyer.
So what you are suggesting is that I refuse or return the payment and cancel the order. ?? Why would a buyer pay and not arrange pickup...Scam??

Are they nearby?
Send a note offering to drop the item off for a delivery charge.
See if they reply.

If they've paid you, it's one of the stoopidest scams I've ever heard of. Hmmmm...

Has he actually said anything about picking it up?
Give him a date by which he must pickup or you will cancel the transaction.........

Since it's a new buyer, they might not know what local pick up is.
Sometimes all they notice, is it says free and they don't understand that they have to pick it up.
I'd cancel the order and refund the buyer.

Local pick up appears as "free shipping" on mobile.
About half of the traffic on eBay is mobile.
New buyers see the "free shipping" and buy it without looking at the actual listing. It's eBay's fault, been this way for years and they haven't fixed it.

If they paid for it, it belongs to them and you're storing it for free.
Send them a message telling them that storage costs are $XX a month after two weeks. That might get some action from them.
