Buyer offer (local pickup only)

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hello everyone, my name is Jake. It's my first time selling on ebay and I was happy that someone made an offer to my item. I am selling a guitar and it's for local pickup only. On the offer, it has information on "Ships to" and it has the buyer's zip code, city, and state.

Does does "Ships to" mean when the item is only for pickup? Does it mean the buyer want me to ship it or it's just something that ebay automatically adds?

Buyer offer (local pickup only)

Your listing is set up properly for local pickup, so I'm assuming that all offers, even local pickup, shows the buyers zip.  I've never done one myself so I can't speak from experience.

If it's not a local buyer, be sure to message them before you accept the offer and make sure they understand that THEY need to come to YOU to get the guitar - that you will NOT ship.   Don't let someone talk you into shipping.  The whole purpose of local pickup is so the seller doesn't have to ship.

The easier you are to offend the easier you are to control.

Buyer offer (local pickup only)

^^^^^

What s/he said.

One more point--if it becomes necessary, either with this buyer or another who might come along later, keep in mind you can cancel the transaction using "problem with buyer's address" if you run into a situation where the buyer doesn't understand that the listing is for local pickup only.

You would want to, of course, let a buyer know that's what you're doing. Just part of developing good customer service.

Good luck!

Buyer offer (local pickup only)

Can't stress enough that you need to make sure buyer understands that Local Pickup does NOT mean you will shipping it to the Buyers local area ( like to a Mail locker for instance) -  Also make sure you keep all communication through Ebay.  So many new Sellers get kicked out of Ebay because they

don't understand that emailing or texting etc outside of Ebay is a major Ebay violation. Good luck
