I recently had a sale and shipped the item out same day, however that evening I realized the buyer had been shipped the wrong item. I messaged the buyer alerting them to the error and letting them know I would ship the correct item the following day and pay for the return shipping on the incorrect item.
This customer is established on eBay with over 400 positive feedback. However they have now received both items and have not responded to messages nor attempted contact. Is this something eBay would step in and help with or am I essentially without recourse? The item in question is valued around $150.
Any input is appreciated.

Unfortunately, e-Bay will not step in.
Your order view should have a phone number. For $150, might try calling them?

Sorry you are out of that money, just write it off. I've done the same thing twice but luckily my buyers shipped the items back but they didn't have too, it theirs to keep free according to ebay.

The buyer is under no obligation to return the item. However MOST people want to do the right thing and many do.

I'm very sorry you are out this money, not fun for you. No, eBay will not get involved. It's very simple really, only you know what was actually sent the first time as it wasn't the item purchased. I know you are telling the truth here, but there's nothing to prevent someone from claiming a valuable item was sent in error and is now owed by the recipient. How could you prove the item sent in error was valuable? All the buyer has to do is ignore you until you go away. Again I am very sorry for this issue. Best of luck to you....

@wa_deals How long ago did you ship it?
If it hasn't been delivered you can try a package intercept.

So sorry..
Perhaps the buyer will surprise you and ship it back.
