Actually, if it were me, @saltymamba. I'd do both. You're selling in a high-scam category, and you may well just have dodged a bullet with this guy. Oh, sure. Maybe he is a newbie and doesn't understand how eBay works. But, I'd be leery of taking a risk a second time. Just my two cents...

Did you verify that the “buyer” who messaged you is the same buyer that bought the item? It’s the same user ID? There’s a common scam where you sell an item, the buyer pays and then a 2nd ID claiming to the be the buyer contacts you and claims the address is wrong or they want you to ship somewhere else.

If it IS the buyer, you explain that Ebay requires you to ship to the address provided on the Paypal payment, and that you will cancel using problem with buyer's address. You can then relist and the buyer can buy using the right address on their payment.

This one is very easy... ALWAYS SHIP TO THE ADDRESS ON PAYPAL. GO CHECK YOUR PAYPAL ACCT. DO YOU SEE THE PAYMENT THERE? THAT IS THE ONLY ADDRESS TO SHIP TO. Now , email the buyer and tell him sorry but you can ONLY ship to address on paypal. Tell him that you will be cancelling the deal with the excuse PROBLEM with address. BLOCK that buyer and relist. You do NOT want to deal with this garbage...
All newbies, copy what I wrote in capital letters and tape it across the top of your laptop or on a wall...
Now let me guess, this item was a phone or some expensive item. IT was not a cheap 4.00 hot wheels, right? Further proof that it's a scammer preying on a newbie.

I'm asking for your advice, I don't know what to do.
As suggested, make sure your buyer and the ID sending you the request are the same person. If suspect, come back here. Depending on the dollar amount I would refund (using the reason..problem with the buyer's address) and ask them to repay.
Dear buyer,
So sorry the wrong address was given to me through the ebay check out system. I am going to refund now so that you can purchase with the correct address and a shipping label can be printed.
Thanks for your business,
You
The scam message going around typically says something in order of.....'I have to be out of town to take care of a sick relative...please ship to..XXXXXX' If you got one ot those, disregard the above message to buyer and come back here.

You're a new seller with $100 gaming items.
If the message came through eBay messaging, I would cancel the sale using "problem with buyer address", block the buyer, relist, and be wary.
Did the message come any some other way?

I agree, Livadia. Once bitten, twice shy. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me.

I'd be concerned about the "is there another way?" I'm inclined to go with Livadia on this one. IF you are sure it IS the buyer, cancel with problem with buyer's address, block, relist. And I would not respond to that message. Your call.

Since you're new and you don't know how to go about this @saltymamba, here's what you should do (in this order).
1. Go into your "Sold" list, and find the transaction. Depending on which eBay screen you're using, the layout may differ, but try looking for possibly a drop-down menu next to the word "Edit."
2. Select "Cancel Order" from the drop-down. You will then see another screen which will ask you for the reason for the cancellation.
3. Select "Problem with address." This will cancel the order and also will result in eBay refunding you the FInal Value Fees you paid when the item sold. eBay will automatically message your buyer and tell them the order was cancelled.
4. DO NOT relist your item until you receive a message from eBay that confirms that the transaction/order has been cancelled.
5. Go to this page in order to add this problem buyer to your blocked bidder list: https://pages.ebay.com/services/buyandsell/biddermanagement.html You just need to copy and paste his user ID into the text box provided.
6. This will prevent this person from bidding on or buying any of your other items. However, since he did purchase the original item from you, he is still allowed to message you about that item. Just ignore any messages you may receive.
7. ALWAYS keep all communication between any buyer and yourself via eBay's internal messaging system. Do not communicate via email or text, nor ever click on any links, open any attachments that a eBay member might send you.
Hope this info is helpful. If you have any other questions, feel free to come back to the forum and ask. The people who hang out here are sellers just like you, most with lots of experience who are willing to help others, especially newbies who are trying to learn the ropes. Good luck!

As this was a fixed-price listing rather than an auction, you don't have any Second Chance Offer to make to anyone else, so things are pretty simple. (I'm assuming here that the user ID on the message you received is an exact match of the user ID who bought the item. If not, see below.)
Tell him that you're cancelling due to a problem with the address (which is true, as he sent you a message to that effect in writing). Then re-list, and tell him that it will be available to him if he gets his address fixed in time to hit the BuyItNow button on your relisted item. Maybe someone else will get it first.
(I do kind of wonder how someone with zero feedback could manage to open an account and plug in the wrong address right away.)
Finally, if the user ID on the message does not match that of your buyer, ignore it, as you are just hearing from a scammer who sends that message in bulk to as many new sellers as possible, watching to send his message as soon as some big-ticket, high-scam item sells. Your real buyer in this case will know nothing about it.
