Buyer left feedback based on color shade/variation

Buyer left a neutral feedback saying the item I advertised as red, was actually magenta. Am I correct in thinking that eBay doesn't allow feedback based on color shade/variation?

Thanks.

I've never heard of such a policy.

Re: Buyer left feedback based on color shade/variation

The comment isn't simply that they don't like the color. The comment is that the color is different from what they expected and when they contacted the seller there was no response. Plus this is a neutral so doubtful that eBay would remove the buyer's opinion, but you can always ask.

Customers can leave any feedback they want.    It is just "their opinion" and does not to be factual.

I think the issue was with the lack of response they said more than the color. I think they might have left more favorable feedback if you had responded timely (I do not know if that is true, I'm just going off of their feedback.)

Ask. CS is not based in the real world. They are in Bizzaroland. No, thats not something thats a valid basis for removal but they may remove it immediately and you will wonder how it was so easy. You may get another that clearly violates policy and they will refuse to remove it. I have had people leave profanity and they took the text out but left the negative line and count. Took me five phone calls and Twitter to get that far. I make zero effort to have any feedback removed. They leave you plenty of space to reply and explain why the person is a jerk. You could totally get a stupid CS and get it taken off. Don’t try more than twice.

For everything that happens conditions exist such that nothing else could have happened.

Re: Buyer left feedback based on color shade/variation

The buyer wasn't happy you advertised red but shipped pink and contacted you to work it out. Why didn't you respond to the buyer's message? Seems like that was the main complaint per their FB.

Buyer,

Sorry to hear you're disappointed with the shirt. It wasn't our intention to mislead on color - it truly looks red to us. We offer a 30 day returns policy and welcome you to return the shirt if you're not happy with the color.

Re: Buyer left feedback based on color shade/variation

In their defense, people with cataracts often see colors a bit different as the disease progresses. Right now my sister is putting off surgery but after shopping with her recently I finally lost and told her to get her eyes done! We were bickering over shades of color! She, of course, was not seeing what the rest of us were seeing, but she was positive she was right.

You should have left feedback for the customer and it might have paved the way to a better relationship.

The color isn't a big deal.
Anyone can make a mistake on the color. People see colors differently.
What makes you look bad is when they say you never responded.
