Buyer left a negative feedback, did not contact to resolve

Buyer left me a negative feedback today, did not contact me to resolve.  I then refunded their payment and submitted a "Feedback revision request".

What if buyer does not respond to that request?  Anyone able to get their negative feedback removed?

I am suspecting sabotage (possibly from the seller which I recently filed a Paypal dispute on).  I had a feeling I shouldn't have listed any items during this time.

Hi sorry to hear about your neg. It looks like it was written by someone who’s not the sharpest pin in the cushion.

When it comes to revision requests, you are only allowed so many per year, so best to have had some contact with the buyer first. Resolve their concerns, then send one if you are pretty sure they are receptive, later, after things have died down.

As for your suspicions, sadly such things do happen. If you have some evidence, it might be possible to get the negative removed under the Unwelcome and Malicious Buying policy. Link below.

It's painful to see those negs and neutrals but if it helps any, they have no effect on eBay's opinion of your selling account.

They do have some effect on the few buyers who actually look at feedback.  Not too many since we see a lot of complaints from innocents who think 95% is an "A".

And that particular neg is pretty obviously from a .... (trying to be polite here)...  technodolt?

I doubt it will do you much harm.

Now.

In future.

If this happens again, first you contact the unhappy buyer and tell him to open a Dispute .

DON'T PANIC!

You will be required to send him Return Postage. (Unless you can persuade him to send it back on his own postage. But with that guy that might include teaching him how to address an envelope and lick a stamp, so... )

When you get the item back (even damaged) you refund him.

And THEN you ask eBay Customer Service to remove the neg, since by refunding you won the Dispute and the buyer cannot leave feedback.

Except-- you were selling digital products.  There is effectively no protection on those since neither buyer nor seller can prove delivery.

Poot.

Judging from the feedback comment . I don't think having an item that doesn't work  is the worst of your buyers problems . Tulips

Unwarrented negative feedback is easy to spot by all but noob buyers.

It will run them off but that is a good thing.

Sure, while you're asking eBay to remove the neg, be sure to mention that you're violating their Digitally Delivered Goods policy and their policy against soliciting outside contact info through eBay Messages.

"please send your email address for activation of subscription through Bitdefender Central"

And it doesn't surprise me that you're violating BitDefender's TOS as well:

"FAIR USAGE POLICY. The following is a non-exhaustive list of practices that would not be considered fair usage: i) Using subscriptions for telemarketing or services offered to third parties to generate income for yourself or others; ii) Re-selling or sharing subscription activation codes to other users ( this may lead in breach of a party privacy rights); "

IMHO this neg is well-deserved. And BTW, buyers are NOT required to contact you before leaving a neg.

"I had a feeling I shouldn't have listed any items during this time."

You shouldn't list any items until you read and understand eBay's policies and you can find something that is LEGAL to sell.

Try not to sweat the small things.  You might call and see what could be done.   We would block and move on.  Best regards

I think the construction of the comment says all you need to know, will not make any sense however you try to read it.

I think I understood it right away.

now good on and old window 7 will not work to old

now = no

and = an

window = Windows

to = too

no good on an old Windows 7 will not work too old

Translation:

The product doesn't work on the buyer's PC as it's not compatible with Windows 7

The listing didn't say what the product will run on.  It had its share of typos too.

for instance :

Multi-device for 6 mouths

YOU WILL REVEIVE ACCOUNT DETAILS NOT KEY
WE GUARANTY 6 MONTHS FULL
