Hello everyone! Im fairly new to Ebay selling.. I started in October.. I just received an email today from a buyer that wants to return an article of clothing.. It was purchased on Nov 3rd and shipped the next day..
The email stated.. Can I return this item, it was given as a Christmas gift and doesnt fit..
Its now Jan 9th.. I could even see if it was right after christmas.. But over 2 weeks after Christmas now.. I am aware that the no returns, doesnt mean no refunds.. I have accepted some returns.. The item is a Lularoe Sarah Cardigan.. Retailed at $70.00 I sold it with best offer at $60.00
First my one concern is it sitting in someones home for over 60 days... Im not sure if the tag is on it, as I still need to respond to her email. But I always feel bad and will probably cave.. but it really gets me frustrated.. At what point can you say no..
I have been selling Lularoe for over 2 years and even on Facebook I never had anyone after 60 days.. But im aware of the Ebay bad negativity and so far only have postive reviews... Im a single Mom with 3 kids who got caught up with the Lularoe nightmare and now in debt because of it.
(Incidentally I just checked my rating and I have one negative that someone wrote.. exactly "The seller sold the item already and im really dissapointed, I should have kept my gift card")
I think they reviewed the wrong person, I dont give out give cards, and if something sold why should I get a negative review? That one confused me.. Lol
Thanks for any advice.. 😞

The feedback 60 days policy counts from the date of purchase ? OR the date of USPS delivery?
From the date of purchase.

can I return this item? I got it for Christmas gift and it does not fit her..thank you and god blessThis was her exact message... Copy and Pasted..
So she was giving it to someone else..
Im still concerned she will do a credit card chargeback and Ill be out money and my item..
Im going to respond now and Ill let you all know what happens.. its just ridiculous.
Is there a time frame that someone can do a Credit card charge back?
So you cant give someone a negative review on Ebay after a certain amount of time?
PayPals 180 day policy excludes buyers remorse which is what this is. At this point I would still not accept a return. She may not have funded the payment with a credit card either. If she files a PayPal dispute you’ve got proof it was buyers remorse and that she gifted the item.

ebay reminds me of the movie Goodfellas, where the restaurant owner needs a partner, that would be Paulie . You see ebay is Paulie... just watch that part you'll know what I'm referring to

vintage - unless people sell locally - there is no protection - I don't care what any one says. These scams are on all the sites and for the most part - they too side with the buyers because they have no idea what the seller sent.
I considered updating my ipad to start on a couple of other newer sites - but I've been lurking on many community boards on Facebook and the sellers on all these other venues have the same gripe - scammers. One woman was thrill that after listing 100 items on M - she had 10 sales within 24 hrs - but - she went on to say she was scammed on 6 of those sales - so I threw that site out the window.
Sellers on other sites complain about no help from CS at all with many of these bad buyers - at least we do have some support here and I think it is swinging back into a more neutral territory as I did win that SNAD - but we can't control Paypal or if a buyer does a chargeback. It's sad - as I never had this many problems even 10 yrs ago but I still have a low % of problem sales even if it has increased slightly.

You are taking chances that it was funded by a CC. Is it worth an additional $20 chargeback fee when the CC company decides in the buyer's favor - that's what you have to ask yourself. And then I never did get my original items back - so I was out over $75 after all was said and done instead of the $7.20 for a return address label as I could have resold them quickly.

Yes, happened to me several years ago. There are those who love to stir the pot by letting the buyer know a discussion is going on. In my "I got me a scammer" post everyone pretty much jumped on the scammer, and her daughter who entered the fray as well. It was quite entertaining! Seems like it has been ages since both buyer and seller have been on the same post -- perhaps something has changed internally to make the buyer more anonymous to others.

Hello,
Im sorry this gift did not fit for someone.. This is now over 60 days past the purchase date.. Does it still have the tags? Im very reluctant to accept a rerturn that has been in someones home for over 2 months.. Please let me know if it has the tags and a picture of the item would be helpful
Thanks Kimberly
So if anyone is curious.. Here is what I wrote.. And im only doing this so I can have a clear concience and yeah Im worried about her doing a charge back and then im out my sweater too... 😞 This was almost 5 hours ago and havent gotten a response back yet..

You shouldn't have sent that message.
Just put them on your blocked bidder list and ignore them.

She can tell you it still has the tags, is wrapped in pretty tissue paper, and was stored with a few lavendar sachets. That doesn't mean it's true. It doesn't matter either. She may turn to PAYPAL or she may go away. Unfortunately she is beyond the return period for eBay. Just like she would be at Target or Walmart which are also 30 days. They might offer a store credit but they might not.
You are under no obligation to do anything.

From Paypal's site:
Working with your seller can be the quickest way to resolve an issue. You can locate your seller's contact information on the transaction details page. They may be able to issue a refund to you or help with a return.
If you've tried working with your seller, but still need to file a dispute, here's how:
*The Resolution Center is not currently available on the PayPal mobile app.
What's Next?
You have 20 days from the date you opened the dispute to resolve it with your seller. If your seller isn't responding or you can't come to a resolution, you can escalate the dispute to a claim. If you escalate your dispute, PayPal will review it and decide the outcome. If we need additional information from you, or need you to take action, we will email you. You can check the status of your dispute at any time in the Resolution Center.
You can manage your dispute in the Resolution Center by communicating with the seller and providing additional information.

Give me a break I love the way everyone trying to scare the seller. No way in hell she would win a chargeback or any disputed for that matter. The advice given here is ridiculous at times.
