Buyer is returning item she claims the item doesn't match description or photos. Buyer said I shipped a different figure than the one I posted pictures of. I only had one of these figures in stock. I told the buyer I only have one in stock and the item is authentic and not a counterfeit item. It is a MAFEX Batman V. Superman Batman figure. I bought the item at Six Flags with the Six Flags price tag still on the box. The buyer also said the figure has loose joints even though the figure is brand new.
I sold the figure brand new and the buyer opened the box which reduces the valve of the figure buy half, now the figure is considered used now. Now I can't relist the figure as new anymore.
Ebay wants me to pay for return shipping and refund the buyer. I provided pictures and proved item is authentic. Is there anything I can do?Buyer's pic

Just honor the return and make sure they ship it back to you. When you receive it, just refund, block them and move on. Ebay posts a Money back Guarantee for all buyers. That's one you just can't fight. Sorry.

not a lot, the bigger concern is what said buyer will actually return to you, sounds like a switch-'er-roo scam, buyer buys, returns item with item not sent, keeps item sent, returns usually some piece of junk broke and worthless. If you don't accept the return ebay will give you mark on your performance/matrix and then just refund the buyer from your MP funds anyways. I would accept the return not refund til get the item back and inspect it, from there if something is wrong don't refund but contact ebay...it's a joke, but you have to play their game. Good luck

Accept the return, otherwise eBay will refund and buyer will keep item. Hopefully buyer will return the item and not an empty box.
Get your self familiarize with eBay's Money Back Guarantee, which basically provides buyer 100% refund when they file a claim.
eBay will not compensate you for the item having lost its value due to being open. The basics on selling on eBay are:
1) Buyers are always right
2) Sellers are always wrong
3) Never sell anything you can't afford to losse
4) When in doubt, re-read from #1

If you want the item returned before refunding, accept the return and pay return shipping.

When a buyer claims "not as described," if you don't pay return shipping and accept the return, ebay will give the buyer a refund AND let him/her keep the item.

I have accepted the return but didn't refund, I am waiting for the buyer to return the item.
This sucks!

If they don't return it, ebay will side with you. Hang in there and see what happens.

in the future always make listings as returns accepted, 30 days. To help protect you, it also helps more if you pay for return shipping that way you don't refund til buyer returns and if something is wrong ebay also allows you to only refund half the cost.

Even with the possible option of a 50% return if something goes wrong like a stone for return. They also have 180 days to file a claim and sting you for the remainder thru PayPal or their Charge Card Company. We sellers dont have much protection against this. Honest Buyers are our only positive hope. Best of luck to you.

You can't do anything. Just accept the return, pay for return shipping. eBay is not for sellers
Thanks

I did list the figure as with return accepted. I wish the buyer didn't open the item. I feel like I got scammed.

Hope they return your item and not some old broken one, that would really suck.

But without sellers eBay won't make money. eBay doesn't sell items like Amazon.

Your previous sales do not justify you listing a $145 item. The only thing you can do at this point is to get down on your knees and pray to Baby Jesus you get your item back and not a box with a rock inside. Welcome to Ebay where the foxes run the chicken house.
