So I've sold an item on ebay shipped it out with a tracking code less than 1 week ago
International shipping to the states from europe wich can take a while weeks and suddenly this buyer filed a dispute of a package not being received after just a few days when it has been shipped out
He's also no longer a member of ebay so I can't even send a message to him. and I have only 5 days to react to the dispute
What do I have to do, naturally it was almost impossible for it to have delivered already let alone customs perhaps delaying the package.
This has to be scam. From my understanding I'd only win the dispute if the tracking says it has been delvired but since international shipping it's pretty much always going to take longer
At this rate the buyer is going to get his money back plus a free item. my insurance won't cover me if it was delivered after those 5 days

If it says he is no longer a member, don't worry about it. He is unable to file a claim/complaint against you. You already got paid. You shipped the item. You have fulfilled your obligation. Relax and enjoy the long weekend.

I have a dispute filed from him atm. he probably left afterwards
What does one do in such a situation? according to the dispute those funds are put in reserve until it is resolved

The only thing you can do at this point is upload the tracking - I suspect if you allow the dispute to time out, it will automatically be ruled against you. I think you'll be okay since the user is no longer registered, but this is a new one on me.

FYI .... He didn't "leave" ebay. He was kicked off ebay. That fact will work in your favor in a dispute. Like plopbox says, there is nothing more for you to do than respond to the case and make sure you upload the tracking information tot the case. Good luck!

this buyer filed a dispute of a package not being
Has your buyer filed a "Payment Dispute" (aka chargeback) as opposed to an eBay claim? The reason I am asking is that generally "item not received" claims through eBay cannot be initiated until a day after the estimated delivery date. A person that has been "kicked off" ebay likely couldn't file an ebay claim at all.
Even though you are in the Netherlands, something seems a bit off with this. Is tracking visible on the parcel now?

I had this happen. I called ebay and they extended the time of the case until after the expected delivery date. Unfortunately, my funds were on hold until days after it was delivered, but once it was delivered, I was in the clear. Mine they did as a CC dispute, 5 days after purchase going to the UK!

Tracking for the insured package is visible just fine atm.
And yes it's an a dispute in wich the buyer says that the items has not been received yet/
However filing that after just a few days for international shipping. pretty low odds for it to have arrived by than let alone customs. It can easily take 1 or over 2 weeks.
It does however say on ebay that the guy is no longer a member. With some crazy luck a package could arrive in the states within a few days maybe that's enough time for someone to file a dispute if you look at minimal amount of shipping time. it also helps that we got a weekend inbetween aswell in wich shipping doesn't make much progress.
He most likely got kicked or left ebay after he send a dispute to me. So he was still a member when he filed it. Probably left/got kicked on the same day

My country sadly doesn't have a phone number for ebay.
kinda sucks because with the old sytem I could just call paypal just fine but that's gone now
I only have twitter or mail. I hope I can extend my time with those sources in time

Contact e-Bay by Twitter then and explain you need an extension. If your buyer is NARU, I don't think e-Bay will refund to them. Make sure e-Bay knows the Buyer went NARU shortly after filing INR. Good luck!

So after some extra digging The guy seems to be an actual scammer
Messaged a few sellers wich left feedback on his account. 50% of them gave me a reply that he left a dispute for them aswell
Probably the reason why his account is left inactive/banned hope those messages will help me win the case. since it's fairly clear the buyer tries to get freebies.

How the heck does a buyer errr scammer file an INR before the last date of delivery?
Because if it's an international shipment it doesn't seem like that date could have come yet..

Apparently he didn't file a claim on ebay he did so from his bank according to the ebay chat.
He filed it while he wasn't a member anymore if that where the case if I had to make a guess

Ye I fear so
Would be a sad case if I lost considering I have proof that the guy tried to scam multiple sellers with a dispute for free stuff.
I'm going to pray for the best.
