Buyer does not speak English-From Peru-GSP to ship item

A buyer who won an auction of ours is from Peru.

We set the item for International Shipping which is using the GSP. We have only had a couple of shipments going thru GSP. All in the past have been paid for by the buyer without any problems or questions about shipping from the buyer.

However this buyer is from Peru and is sending us messages in spanish. I ran it thru the eBay translator but it says the translator is not available. I have tried it several times over the past week or so. I also ran the message thru a translator online and it seems the buyer is asking how much the shipping is.

Since we have not shipped many items using GSP I would assume and by quickly reading the Help section when the buyer goes to pay for the item it should guide them thru the costs etc including customs duty, freight to the Global Shipping location etc.

I tried to send a few messages back explaining they have get the costs of shipping etc from the GSP on their end but I don't think they are understanding me. The item was listed as buyer pays for shipping and now that they won the auction they are asking me what the shipping is. Would that not have been available to them as they were bidding on the listing? I am a bit confused. Meanwhile I am stuck as to what my next step should be. It has been a week so far and I am not getting very far with this.

A little direction here would be appreciated.

Thanks!!

Re: Buyer does not speak English-From Peru-GSP to ship item

Is this for one of two swaddlers or the baby carrier? None of those 3 listings have a shipping cost to Peru which means that they won't ship those particular items there for some reason. If it is for those items tell the buyer that you can't ship there or if you are willing to ship there directly, you would have to add a shipping cost to the invoice. There is no delcon for first class interntional to Peru so you would probably want to use Priority international. (not flat rate envelope or small flat rate box)

To prevent buyers from making a purchas from places that you or the gsp don't ship to go to my ebay - account- site preferences - buyer requirements and check off 'block buyers who have a primary shippin address in a location that I don't ship to'

I ran it thru the eBay translator but it says the translator is not available.

Come back when you have a better idea what the buyer is asking.

Re: Buyer does not speak English-From Peru-GSP to ship item

First go to the listing and change the country in the shipping calculator to Peru. There is a glitch with GSP and listings are opted in by the seller but when the listing goes live, GSP isn’t enabled. If gsp is enabled and Peru is on the list of eligible countries in the listing then I think the buyer wants you to ship directly without using the GSP. He has already received an invoice with the international shipping costs so if he’s asking how much for shipping he’s probably wanting you to ship directly to him.

I had the same situation a couple of weeks ago. They receive an invoice - but most don't realize or pay attention to the cost and customs fees they have to pay. I had to end up opening a UPI as what they want you to do is override the GSP and send an updated invoice where you ship it directly - which I won't do. Open the UPI and close it in 2 days - report the buyer and sell it to someone else.

I think I will do this that pjcdn2005 suggests.

"To prevent buyers from making a purchas from places that you or the gsp don't ship to go to my ebay - account- site preferences - buyer requirements and check off 'block buyers who have a primary shippin address in a location that I don't ship to' "

This was not a present listing item. This item weighs 33 lbs - baby stroller.

I notified the buyer we don't ship to Peru; well I hope that is what the translator told them.

The other possibility is that whatever the size specified in the listing for shipping may not allow for shipping via GSP to Peru.  There are some funky size limitations through GSP.  Even if you could ship it yourself within the requirements, often GSP numbers are often different. I had to go through a insane amount of adjustments to get a package to go through GSP for a particular buyer somehere in Europe.  I was making the box so I could adjust it until it was eligible for GSP.

The op has gsp enabled on the listings that I mentioned as well but there is no price for shipping to Peru so the gsp does not ship those items there.

I was looking at the items that you have sold in the last few days and those 3 stood out because they don't show shipping to Peru. The strollers that you sold in December don't show shipping to Peru either.

To check for things like this yourself, just go into your listing as a customer would, click on the shipping tab and change your location to Peru or for wherever you want to check. On those items Peru is not given as an option by the gsp.
