Buyer didn’t read description

Hello,

I recently sold a PC part. specifically an MSI GeForce RTX 3070 Ti. The buyer sent me a message stating he didn’t read the description and wants to return it. Do I have to accept it?

Did you just get a "message" or has the buyer filed for a return?

Trust me - it's easier to just accept the return, and at least they're being honest about why they want to return.  I have 'no returns' for my old tech but if someone asks I make an exception, they can file (wrong part) get the label and simply send it back.

Re: Buyer didn’t read description

No you do not have to accept the return but if buyer files a claim  buyer will get refund but you will not required to send your item back

if you refuse the return buyer will be refunded

Accept return and get your item back

Re: Buyer didn’t read description

Honestly, it's the first time I hear a buyer accept his fault!

The return policy states in this case the buyer has to pay for the return, but most likely eBay will force YOU to pay for it, because eBay is a "buyer" defender, and they don't care if you lose money as a seller.

If the guy agrees to pay the shipping cost and spare the shipping you spent, and only accepts the refund of the item (which is HOW IT SHOULD BE), then you accept is petition, and let him return the item.

If the buyer opens the case due to "not as described", you are effed up. My suggestion then is

1) You buy your own ticket of return, to avoid the buyer to cheat on that also (trust me, many times they asked me $20 to pay for a shipping service which I got for $4-5)

2) Do not refund at all, leave eBay work the case, so at least you force him to wait a month for the return.......in fact, if the item arrives, don't pick it. Wait until the last day to do it, and then force the guy to keep waiting more.

if you refuse the return buyer will be refunded

Have I missed something here?  Has the buyer filed a "return request" or is the buyer simply messaging the seller?

@konlagrigsb0

Please clarify if a case was filed AND to what city/state did you ship this item?

Re: Buyer didn’t read description

Get the item back first then inspect

If altered/damaged you might be able contact eBay and do partial refund, but no guarantee on that

I know it sucks but it is just the MBG we have to deal with and eBay seller policies

All sellers here have gone through this and still deal with this type of thing now and then

Re: Buyer didn’t read description

That should be like the least of your concern. Your buyer could be a scammer and returns something else.. Sorry for assuming, but yeah I read too many scam threads related to GPUs..

Re: Buyer didn’t read description

If a case has open, or you offer returns

Options are:

Return for refund:

Do not return and refund.

Or  wait it out until eBay refunds them for you deducting it from you....
