My experience with buyer that bought a sony beta video player great shape worked perfectly.
The buyer then after having the machine for 3 days states he wanted a refund, that it doesn't work and it is defective. I called eBay regarding this and advised them after eBay approved the return and refund that when I got it back it works PERFECTLY!
I had it as NO REFUNDS, but ebay over rides that WITHOUT asking the seller.
After messaging with him for a few days, he states, IT IS POSSIBLE IT WAS THE SET UP WE HAVE and he had 3 of the same machines but had a short deadline. THAT MADE ME VERY SUSPICIOUS, THAT IF HE HAD IT SET UP WRONG, HAD 3 OF THE SAME MACHINES, AND HAD A SHORT DEADLINE? WELL COME TO FIND OUT IT'S A COMPANY THAT DOES VIDEO AND DOCUMENT TRANSFERS TO DIGITAL.
ON TOP OF THAT ebay withdrew from my bank account more than they should have.

So you didn't accept the "item not as decribed" return? And eBay forced the return and label? Correct?

What do you mean, they withdrew more then they should have.
The buyer would get a full refund?
Is that what they withdrew, plus the return shipping?

At least you can sell it again. Put the us guy on your blocked buyer list.

Glad to hear you received your player back in resellable condition.
You learned how returns work on eBay the hard way. Hopefully you did not allow eBay to refund in your behalf. That causes a defect on your seller account.
If you continue selling on eBay, become familiar with the policies.

For what it's worth... I find that if an item sells once, it will again. Adjust your numbers and relist. Good luck!

apcg500,
Did you get your machine back? Did you instruct ebay to accept return or did ebay step in and forced a refund?
If ebay had to step in you will most likely not get your machine back. Ebay doesn't require the buyer return the item when they have o step in and force a refund. When ebay steps in and forces a refund you will not get your final value fees back which is the reason why they withdrew more from your account than what you were paid after ebay originally deducted their fees before they sent your proceeds to your bank.

OP - be glad you got it back.
Some people do end-runs around sellers with no-return policies by using the INAD option.

I would report that buyer and let ebay know that they probably bought your machine to transfer a video to digital. So if they buy another video recorder and need to return it a few days later, Ebay can see that they are a business. Be grateful they didn't take your machine apart and returned a brick. Block the bidder, re-take photos and relist at a higher price to recover any losses.

Welcome to eBay. Buyers can make up any lie and force a return. They don't have to provide photos or any back up. Just lie about a defect. After eBay forces you to accept the return and pay return postage and you receive it and can show buyer lied, eBay forces you to refund because now you have the item back, after fraud facilitated by eBay. That is just the way it works at eBay.

No.
You have a No Returns policy. We cannot have a No Returns policy.
eBay approved the return and refund that when I got it back it works PERFECTLY!
So you got it back and it works fine?
The buyer is a nitwit. Put him on your Blocked Bidder List.
Now relist the video player.
I would suggest using Fixed Price/Immediate Payment Required.
And skip the No Returns, as you now know it does not work the way you want it to.
It's business, not personal.
And not every transaction will go perfectly.
IT'S A COMPANY THAT DOES VIDEO AND DOCUMENT TRANSFERS TO DIGITAL.
That's going to be the usual customer for vintage technology.
ebay withdrew from my bank account more than they should have.
Now THAT is a real problem.
Was there a currency exchange involved? Are you both in the same country?
There is a 30c non-refundable service fee.
Was the difference greater than that?

CORRECT

The item sold for $375.00, ebay deposited in my bank account $330.55. After eBay granted the return by the buyer, ebay charged my account $403.83.

I got the machine back and eBay forced the refund.
